Ordered an '09 Turbo / opinions needed

I just placed an order for an '09 Turbo. Its a Dec production. So I do have a couple of weeks if I want to change any options. Here is what I ordered:

B4 Carrara White
07 Leather interior in natural leather carrera red
CDW Y trim on three spoke/multi0function steering wheel leather
453 Three-spoke multi-function steering wheel in carbon
671 Voice Control
870 Universal audio interface
693 CDC-4 six disc CD/DVD autochanger
666 Telephone Module
CXD Door entry in carbon, illuminated
XMJ Rear section of center console in carbon
EAH Additional interior package carbon
803 Carbon Package
XSB Sports seat backrests in leather
CDZ Gear lever trim leather
XSC Porsche crest embossed on head restraints
CEF LED door-pocket lighting
CEE Rear footwell lighting
XFJ Instrument dials in Carrara white
810 Floor mats
XXZ Footrests in sports look
608 Homelink
XCZ Sport shifter
220 Rear axle differential lock
640 Sport Chrono Package Plus
XXF Red tailights
CMA Mirror attachement point finishers painted
CGA Headlamp cleaning system cover painted
425 Rear wiper
635 Parkassist
P01 Adaptive sport seats

24904 Center console deviating stitching (black)
24902 Door trim stitching (black)
24901 Dashboard deviating stitching (black)
24891 Front and rear seats deviating stitching (black)

I have requested for the carpet to be black. Is there any code for that?
I have also requested deviating stitching on shift boot (black)

This is the first time I am personlizing a car (I have only purchased cars off the lot, or on the boat). So a little nervous, hoping that I got everything right. Or have missed out / ordered too much of something.
To me it looks good, but I would like to have all your inputs.

Thanks in advance.

You've got a rear wiper in there. Does it rain that much in Dubal??

You need to order an Exclusive handbrake/shifter to get deviated stitching on those items. This is the one that gets missed about 75% of the time.

The Groom posted the following information on Rennteam:
http://www.rennteam.com/showflat.php...=&fpart=1&vc=1
(scroll down about 10-15 posts)

Here is what The Groom said:
Deviated stitching... some people like it, some don't. But if you do it, do it right.

Ordering deviated stitching is an arcane process as Porsche. You have nine options to order:

24891: seats
24901: dashboard top
24902: door top panel
24903: door handle
24904: PCM side panels
24905: rear side panels
09991: all Exclusive options
one Exclusive shifter/handbrake package
one Exclusive steering wheel.

Shifter/handbrake package must be one of the following:
on a manual:
DAW (same as DAD shifter; see blueline's car)
DAT (same but in Alcantara)
DAX (same as EGA shifter)
on a Tip:
DAV (same as DAW)
DAU (same as DAT)
Don't forget to add CDZ to DAT and CFA to DAU as those nice-looking options are not included in the Alcantara shifters (but they definitely are in DAV/DAW/DAX).

Exclusive steering wheels:
XPA: thicker sports steering wheel
CFA: thicker rim for "triangular" steering wheel or multifunction steering wheel
CLA: thicker rim in Alcantara for sports, triangular or MF steering wheel
XPV: Aluminum-look MF steering wheel.

Regarding carbon fiber (or wood for that matter) options:
As RAKLAW mentioned, the carbon fiber package (803) is not an Exclusive options and is not covered by any stitching option. If you order 803, you get what MMD posted. To avoid that, don't order 803. Order DAT/DAU/DAV/DAW/DAX to get the shifter boot right. Order the missing CF dashboard trim strip from your dealer and let him install it when the car arrives.
Similarly, the CF MF steering wheel is not available with deviated stitching. You have to go aftermarket if you want CF inserts and deviated stitching.

Exception: carbon fiber on the GT2 and GT3:

AFAIK the carbon package is actually an Exclusive option on the GT models (EZA), so it is covered by 09991!
However, you must order XPA to get deviated stitching on the steering wheel.
(unless there is a hidden option to get deviated stitching on the stock Alcantara wheel that I have not heard about).

Here is a thread with photos of all of the shifter/handbrakes:

It looks like you have spec'd a great car. Here is what I like:
  • White (best color)
  • Sports Chrono
  • Adaptive Sport Seats
  • Rear Differential Lock
  • Sport Shifter
The rest of the options are gravy.

I think you might want to add:
  • 24951 Carpet in Deviating Color
  • 24903 Stitching of Door Handle in Deviating Color
  • 09991 All Exclusive Options with Deviating Stitching
  • CPA Thicker Multifunction Wheel

You might consider eliminating the carbon fiber options and getting PCCB instead.

Thanks for the insight sparkhill. That's the info what I was looking for.

So do I have to order 24951 in order for the carpet to be black?
I ordered the EAH package, so due to carbon door handles, I cannot order
I forgot to put down 09991. We have it down in the order agreement, and in comments, it says black stitching.
I had initially chosen CPA, but when the wife say another car in the showroom with a carbon wheel...well you know the rest...

Now, we are stuck with the decision, of the Shifter/E-brake option. Do we keep it carbon so it flows with the rest of the interior, or do we order an aluminum shifter / e-brake in order to get the deviated stitching?
I have seen pictures with carbon and aluminum shifter, but not on a carrera red interior.

I do not like non-leather wheels, period. They look great, but the wood/carbon part get sweaty and slippery from your hands. It is uncomfortable. Other than the seats, the wheel is the part of the car you touch the most so function is more important than looks. But... if the wife ain't happy, ain't nobody happy.

I think keeping the stitching consistent is the most important consideration. Try to track down The Groom or Atomic80 as they are both awesome at sorting this stuff out.

Its a no cost option, so why not?
I've actually used it a few times in the winter on my 996tt.

Looks like you've gotten off to a great start with sparkhill's help. I also echo his suggestion to go with PCCB over the deviated stitchings. Functionality is far more important than asthetics IMHO.

There's no option as far as I can tell for a carbon fiber seatbacks. Porsche has never offered this as an option as far as I know.

I also mirror GEE-BEE's suggestions on getting the sunvisors/dome light/steering wheel/door finishers/defroster trim in leather. I also suggest getting the rear center console in leather as well. There's an additional option for the A-pillar to be covered in leather but IMHO you don't need this since you'd only see it when the door is open.

Also, the CF rear center console looks bad in my opinion. A little bit is a good thing, too much is not. Currently I have only a few CF trim pieces in mine. The trim piece across the dash and the A-pillar covers from bumperplugs.com

Here's a picture illustrating the different shift ****/ebrake handle choices. I have EGA in mine without the deviated stitching.

CF goes well with aluminum if used in small amounts. Look at how elegant my interior looks.

BTW, I don't have the CF trim on my TechArt steering wheel anymore. I had cracking issues so I ended up going with an all leather version instead. If there was one single aftermarket mod that you'd had to pick then I'd strongly encourage going with the TechArt wheel. Best "mod" ever, IMHO. It's nice and THICK and feels great!

I would get PCCBs... costly option though. Since your doing the white speed dials, you should get white seat backs.

White stitching would look pretty cool with the red leather =)

I forgot to mention that with white dials, the sports chrono dial remains silver. That would bother me so I went with stock dials. It will look fine whichever way you go, but I think white dials is an option you may want to skip.

That would look awesome, but you'll be very upset when the stitching gets dirty.

Thanks for the replies.
  • Interior light switch: I did choose that, but during visualization, it looked kind of wired. The roofliner would be black, and only the interior light panel would be in Carrera Red (with deviated stitching). So we stuck with all black (standard)
  • I do not wantg the interior to be all red, so contrasting it with Carbon here and there was a good option. I saw one car in the showroom with Caron on Carrera Red, and it sure did look good.
  • I have changed the gear / Ebrake option to DAW. Thanks guys! I sure would have been upset if that had not come up with deviated stitiching.
  • We thought of white stitching first, but it is guaranteed it would get dirty by our little one, so we opted for black instead. It will be hard enough maintaining the red interior.
  • White seatback would look wierd with the red interior? Anyone have any pictures?
  • PCCB would be an expensive option. Is it really necessary if I am not going to track the car?
