New GIAC Version 2 software release for the 997TT...

GIAC is proud to announce a new software version release for 997 Turbo applications. This new Version 2 software calibration updates and enhances the very popular GIAC 997TT program released in December of 2006. With 8 - 12 peak wheel torque, 5 - 15 wheel horsepower (temperature/ octane dependant) gain and more area under the curve over the previous version, existing customers will feel a significant difference and new customers will be elated. The peak boost level hits 1.4 bar with 1.2 bar of pressure throughout the upper RPM range. With the right combination of intake and exhaust, this program can yield gains on pump gas of up to 88 horsepower and 78 foot-lbs of torque over the stock program. When coupled with an exhaust upgrade the new programs maintain exhaust gas temperatures and knock correction that is very close to that of a completely stock 997Turbo.

The attachment plots three dyno runs:
- 997TT (manual transmission, M7 intake, JIC titanium exhausts (larger than three inch), GIAC's Version 1 software.
- 997TT (manual transmission, M7 intake, JIC titanium exhausts (larger than three inch), GIAC's newly released Version 2 software)
- Stock 997TT (manual, stock set up)

All runs used 91 octane fuel.

looks great. does the exhaust manufacturer make any real difference? do any exhausts do better than others? i am really leaning toward your product and i would be getting an exhaust as well. any advise would be appreciated.

Also, Stock dyno result is not smooth its fluctating, any reasons for that?

This car has factory intercoolers installed and we dyno these cars in 4th gear. Despite having some of the best fans you can find, they still do not achieve the necessary wind speeds to keep up with a 4th gear pull in 997TT. Prior to that bump you see, the car is reacting to heatsoak by pulling timing and adding fuel, as we do not remove any of the heatsoak safeties in the DME.

The intake air temps may get a bit hot on the road but, it will be to a lesser extent than what you see there.

From the graph I see that version 2 torque below 3000rpm is less than version 1. Is it correct? I don't wat to loose bottom end power.
Also, I saw in your website that you have version 2 file for 997TT with upgraded intercooler (GIAC ECU part# 99761865408).
Do you have the graph of this file compared to the the version 1 file (December 2006)?

All of the cars that we have tested thus far in-house have had full exhaust systems. So long as the cats are installed running muffler bypasses should not be an issue.

You definitely won't feel a loss in low end power. We have a very large amount of cars running the Version 2 software now and the feedback has been extremely positive.
