SoCalCFP is infamous around these parts
someone told me you need spacers for the oz wheels and not for the hre monoblocks, is that correct?

Tirerack says that they do require spacers, but they do not specify if it is for the rear or front axle.

yeah. i guy i know who is the mgr at a local tire shop told me this. said the hre would be superior to the oz wheels. obviously, the price difference is substantial.

Did he say what makes the HRE superior to the OZ? Or did he just say that because the HRE costs 3 times as much? Oz has a long racing heritage, they are also involved in many races including F1.

I agree with you, the HRE would make his pocket 3 times more superior presumably

actually, he rarely sells hre's. he is a local tire shop and sells typical less expensive wheels. he just said hre's are some of the best out there and we are talking about a porsche tt and not a more moderate car.

I think you aren't even allowed to race on many tracks with HRE wheels. However, I have never heard of this rule applying for OZ's. Don't know if that applies for the new forged HRE Monoblocks though.

Wow didnt know that. Do you know why they dont allow them on the track? Also what makes a rim not be allowed on the track?

There are no rules about HRE wheels and their suitability for track use. This is only an old rumor designed to degrade an excellent product. HRE wheels are very suitable for track use.
