Gutted 997TT
I thought some of you would be interested in seeing the inner shell of our 997TT's.
I'm having Dynamat Extreme laid in the floor, up the center hump and over the rear seating and sides.
Additionally, I'm having the Passport 9500ci and mObridge Bluetooth systems installed.
Lastly, I'm pre-wiring the car for a three-way audio system, should I elect to install it later.
What I found interesting was that the carpeting is actually the outer layer of two main shells, front and back - sort of like those Jacuzzi molded tubs. I may take pictures later. I walked into the shop thinking that I was going to take the carpet outside and shake it out like a regular carpet. Not... It took some time to pull all that out given the many fasteners securing it to the floor.

Wow!
I think the OP is trying to have better exterior sound deadening/interior accustics in the car, but I gotta think taking all that stuff out and putting it back is going to induce rattles galore. Might as well put in a Ruf integrated roll bar now. GL in any respect.

The guy likes his supercar nice and quiet... Good for him... I think 1 big roll of dynomat will add less than 50LBS to the car, not really all that much. I would suggest getting some new fasteners and using them in places where the fastener than came out is not 100% perfect.
I personally think the effort is futile because the car was not designed with noise abatement as a primary objective. The shear fact that you have an AWD system driving sticky steamrollers can't really be overcome with dynomat on the interior. I would think that a felt type fender liner, like the ones used on a Lexus, would provide more road noise isolation than the dynomat under the carpet. You could always do both. Heck.. I could be wrong .. In any case good luck and let us know how it turns out.

hah.. been there and done that with the RS' that needed custom roll bar plates welded in so that we could put the RS roll bar in so I know how much stuff goes in there
Pretty cool to see it all stripped down like that

Looks like a cool project, like others said, i'd be worried about rattles myself. I have one panel in the rear that got taken off by the dealer and it squeeks like crazy now, all day everyday. (they are replacing that piece btw) Good luck! It's going to be nice having all that stuff integrated and how you want it for sure..
A few more pictures.
To answer a few questions: The overall weight increase will be 60 lbs. Most of this is at the lowest part of the car so my distaste of added weight is somewhat minimized.
The added felt idea is interesting. Some of the panels have felt (or a felt-like) padding in certain areas of the trim and carpeting tubs already.
This car has the EVT 700 package so performance shouldn't be effected in a significant way.
Most or all of the clips removed are metal with high memory properties. I see that Porsche have applied cloth tape over some of the trim piece fasteners to prevent rattle/vibration noises. The installer (over 20 years experiance) is **** about buzzes, etc.. The car is at S-Car-Go, a Porsche specialist.
Hmmm... I wonder just how much all that stuff removed from the car weighs?
