I haven't try to remove rear lip on 997TT but I assume those tap are same design as the front lip that I've work on. Start from one side and you need to pull it with some force. If your car is on lift, try to push the taps in under and lip will be out easily.

finally got the trim , FYI you have to remove the rear bumper because the two intercooler vents sit on top of the rear apron with metal tabs, what a PIA. after you remove the two intercooler vents, the the rear apron finally came out. there os no way you can do this witht the bumper on. i broke half of the tabs for the intercooler vents, those metal clips really grab the plastic tab, no i have to put all this back .

will attach pics latter.

the rivets arre atached to the rear apron with a metal strip, so that is not attached to the bumper, but still needs to be removed

Are you sure? The shop that I took it to (friends of mine) managed to get the apron off without removing the rear bumper. They had to use all kinds of tools to get those tabs to come out. It eventually came off.

i am sure one could do it without removing the bumper. but it was lot easier to take the bumperr out and work outside, and i did not have the special tools.
