Install Pics - Brembo 2pc Rotors
First off, great thread and write up.
Would like to get feedback on a few novice questions, if I may. Before that a few details for you to take inconsideration:
1) I have a 2007 997.1 C4S Cab
2) I do not track nor plan to
3) My P-car is my DD (sorta...I have have Nissan Armada (Family car) and 99' Jeep Wrangler to alternate with).
Bearing that in mind...
a) Seems unless I plan to track, the these rotors might not offer much of a benefit for my needs/daily usage? (I don't hard break driving down the streets...)
b) The upside seems that when the time does come to change my rotors out (due to wear) I could spend a few more $$ and go with Brembo which may never wear out for my use? (subjective speculation, I know but looking for "opinions")
c) When replacing rotors, even if your pads have "life" left, is if a best practice to replace pads with aftermarket and bed with new rotors?

A) There won't be a large noticeable difference. The lower weight will give you a bit more hp because lower rotational mass, but I dont think its even worth doing the calculation as it won't make an impact when the car has 480hp stock.
B) Can't comment on the life of rotors from regular street driving, but it would be quite large. To say never that's a stretch unless you had PCCB. On the bright side if you did go with the brembos you would be out of pocket once a large sum, but then on replacement you would keep the hats so that drops your cost for replacement significantly if you did wear them out.
C) This is based on track usage, but its recommended to bed in new rotors with used pads. However, I've seen it done both ways. The thought is that new rotors plus new pads on track will generate more heat than you want, but people also worry about warped rotors, when in reality in most cases they aren't warped but just need to have a thin layer of deposits removed from them. For street driving especially you needn't worry and can use either new or used pads, whichever is easier for you. Do break them in a bit though just so that if you happen to be in a situation where a hard emergency stop is required in the first 50-150 miles you aren't caught off guard.
All that being said I'm still selling my rotors and I think have the pagid yellows that I was using them with, shoot me a PM if interested. Around 80% life still left which is a ton if its just for street/DD.

It's amazing the volume of posts there are on brakes/rotors/pads/ etc... My eyes are bleeding from the hours combing the forums and of course being a newbie on this topics I still have more questions..
As a reminder my focus is for DD street usage.
1) Do/will the Brembo rotor's sequel with Pagid Yellow or OEM pads? (at least beyond initial bedding/"brake-in" phase?
2) Do they cause more brake dust or is this more of a pad side effect? (already spend enough time cleaning my custom wheels...)
3) How do they look (any pics?) from daily usage?

1) Squeal: The brembo rotors dont affect the squeal, so if you are hearing anything it will be a result of your pads. Pagid yellows will squeak more than OEM.
2) Brake dust is all about the brake pads, not the rotors.
3) They actually look great, they are shinier than the stock rotors. As you can tell from the photos on pg 1, other than that its just a question which look you like more, the drilled holes or slots.
