Lightbulb SharkWerks Project of the Week: EVT700 Tiptronic

Had a few nifty cars this week to play with so I figured I'd share another EVOMS EVT700 equipped car that we built this week. With the EVOMSit Software tuned for 91 octane, EVO VTG Turbos, EVO Headers, EVO BRV's, Intercooler Kit & Hoses, Fabspeed Exhaust (and dual tips) and that tiptronic gearing (and mapping) she's a real hoot

Here she is as the finished article with black HRE P40 Monobloks, TechArt rear valence and Type 1 wing and the GT3 front vent installed.

First phase was to remove the exhaust, headers, turbos, intercoolers (oh and the bumper):

With the turbos off it's a good idea to swap in some new spark plugs as well since it'd be tricky to do later (the car had 8000miles on it). One other thing/tip that we've come up against is the cam timing sensors.... It's a good idea to change those out because we've seen so many 07-08 cars have a faulty cam timing sensor. They're only $65 each (X2) so it's worth changing out at the same time.

On with the intercoolers, turbos, BRVs, hoses and Fabspeed exhaust..

Cheers very much and it's stock ride height... No need to repaint the bumper either.

Here's a pic:

Alex, the car look greats. It must pull very hard off the line. I can only imagine what he car dose when you put it into launch mode from a stop. Front wheels want to leave the ground putting down that power.

I am not a fan of the wing, the painted lower moldings look great on the silver.

Cheers Marco... makes for a freight-train grocery getter that's for sure I just love how the tips pull in a straight line. Back in the 996TT days 02,03 and 04 people would always give me a hard time about the Tip until they would see the 10 second pass:P

Cheers Roller and I'll show you the wing from this angle.. I actually like it a lot when it's in the down position vs up as it reminds me of the 996TT Aerokit wing:

Quick question, can the tip handle the new power short/long term?
Sorry if this was answered before

We know from experience on my own 996tt tip from 01-05 (and other customer cars) that it can handle around 750tq. It's the same transmissions as found in the TT S600 Merc so she's a strong one!

This car is coming back soon for a "Facial" and some suspension work She's not done yet....

And again folks, we've done a whole bunch of EVT700 Tips and just like the 996TT Tip, the transmission is so strong (from the S600) that there's nothing to worry about.

What time does it take to install a set like this? Is it a matter of days?

Cheers for the kind words and that's part of the Type1 kit from TechArt, we're actually awaiting a few parts to do similar things to a Type 2 fitted silver EVT700 Tip as well :

Hi Dutchie, we like to have the car for about a week to do an EVT700 conversion.
