City mpg
City mpg
What is everyone averaging in the city. I don't get better then 14-15MPG in the city. On days that I am heavy into the gas I average about 12; has anyone gotten 18 in the city. That is about what I average on the highway!!
I think my car is running rich; What can dealer do to resolve this? What else could be causing my poor fuel economy? My tires are properly inflated and the car has about 13K miles on it now (it's my DD).

I don't drive in the city, in the suburbs I get about 17 mpg.

You won't know until you ask.

Not getting the car up to operating temperature (i.e. short drives), jack rabbit starts or a similar driving style, a leak in the tank or fuel line. Driving at a high RPM for the conditions. Do you engage the sport mode for city driving? That would tend to encourage a driving style that decreases gas mileage.
On the highway I can get up to 24 MPG, but if I'm having fun in the twisties that drops to 16 MPG real quick, and oil consumption becomes noticeable. Typically on a long drive at freeway speeds I'll get about 20 MPG.

No black smoke under heavy acceleration or start up; I have noticed that sometimes when I start the car the revs jump up to about 3K which is very unsual. It is like someone is giving it gas when starting up. I know My foot is not on the gas pedal. It only does it every once in awhile; Could the throttle be stuck or just extra fuel getting dumped in? The car is also very jeky when manuvering around in 1st gear in the parking garage at work; the throttle seems very sensitive sometimes more so then others.
