Thanks for all the replies! It looks like there is an pretty clear winner here. I'm really excited and will pic posts when everything is done (it may be a little bit...my car hasn't shipped yet.)
Bobby I am aware how the vote has turned out but I am still thinking flat gunmetal grey.
The other choice that wasn't given on the poll is silver -- versus polished aluminum. I prefer the flat silver to polished aluminum on a black car as the silver is less shiny.
Curiously enough, the picture you posted looks more like silver powder coat than polished aluminum to me (??) as I would think polished aluminum, for example with the HRE P40, looks a lot more "shiny."
Just want to make life more interesting for you. LOL.

Yes, similar to one of the photoshop pics above, or Doug's car. On a black car, my opinion is gunmetal grey is absolutely swaaeeeet!!
This latest example of yours appears clear coated and therefore a little more shiny than I would like. I prefer flat finish in wheels. Simply my bias -- no right or wrong.
Also see my note above about polished aluminum versus silver powder coat. Are you sure the picture you posted is polished aluminum and not silver powder coat? In the HRE P40 for example, there is this finish called "brushed -- not polished -- aluminum," and it's too shiny for my taste. Would stand out too much on a black car I think. I mean I like to have the contrast, but not so much that it takes attention away from the car.

Yes this is the sweet spot! I kept saying "flat" but I guess the more correct description is "satin." Definitely much better than shiny paint to my eyes.
The interesting thing about gunmetal grey is that it is quite understated but it attracts my eyes and attention like crazy! I always seem to turn and track it like a heat seeking missile finding a jet.

Thank you...rep point for you!
I think they would look super sick in matte black, my local body shop has been doing this new matte black finish he calls "satin black" ive seen people doing this alot these days, its a matte black finish with a bit of a shine to it... Look into that....
