Header ?

So from what i can tell headers are the same for 996tt & 997tt is that right, while my car was on lift i noticed they seem to be easily changed & thinking about adding a set while getting exhaust put on this week, & a quick search on ebay shows several different versions one brand is only $165.00 brand new all the way up to $1800.00 for Gemballa ,i realize you get what you pay for ,but is there anything wrong with the $165.00 headers, or maybe something in between the two, not sure how to link ebay stuff but here's a pic of them or do an ebay search for 997 turbo headers
details are 304 ss,1 5/8 43mm primary tubes,mandrel bent,2mm wall thickness 3/8 flanges,tig welds.

Yes they are same headers.
but some tuners did slightly changed of the port and inside diameter smaller for the 997tt one to make the VTG turbos spolls faster.

Better not buy those $165 one as the material might not strong enough.Especially if you plan to go over 600hp you better get the headers from trusted tuners.

I've seen welds on some of the lower priced headers - many are not good. Holes at those spots are more common. So I believe the higher cost headers use better stock material, have better welds, are finished better, are "tuned" by dyno, and are QCd / QAd better...

Someone on another board actually sucked some of the sloppy slag through his turbo, did a ton of damage. Cheap headers are not worth it imo.

Not a part to skimp on, go with a trusted brand.

Please take a moment and rewiew our headers. These are in stock and ready to ship.

See here:
http://awe-tuning.com/pages/shared/p...L=997ttheaders

We spend a considerable amount of time grinding down the ports for no restriction, we also back gas during the assembly process to make sure that no slag builds up during fabrication.

To my knowledge we are the only company taking the time to do this.

Here are some pics.

Here is also an interesting read on the difference between our headers and a well known competitor.

Please email or PM me directly if you need more information.

Mike@AWE-Tuning.com

Thanks.

Don't skimp on headers. Always buy quality parts from quality manufacturers.
