two-five LGT is infamous around these parts
It appears to me you're leaning towards an SUV, as you have a sedan (750i) in your stable already. Given your budget and DD requirements, I would suggest something reliable and practical such as the Acura MDX, RDX, or Lexus RX. The new(er) MB SUVs would be good choices as well. I would stay away from the SRT8 and 8Cyl X5 as they're serious gas guzzlers.

I love my RS6. Tons of torque, fun to drive, all wheel drive, stealthy, etc. They are inexpensive now (30-40K) but it is a little dated compared to current cars, as it is an 03 model. It is also a car you do not want to own without an extended warranty. I drove a new S6 the other day. It is a great car, but somewhat un-inspiring after the torque and sound of the twin turbo V8 in the RS6.

my 750 lease is up at the end of the month, I really don't need another 750 so now I'm looking for something different.

It's priced a step up and little smaller but would you consider a four door M3 ? You may even be able to get an 08 leftover for a bit more than yoir price limit and if you are closing out the 750 then BMW might waive a few lease end costs .
