I daily drive my 08 997TT -- even when we got snow this winter (snow tires for the wacky weather in the PNW). I have a 3YO and a 5YO, and both have porsche car seats permanently in the back seats. Even though I have a few more rules than mom (no food, no toys, only a few books), they'll still pick this car over the others.

And we'll even do this for long rides. My daughter and I are doing a road trip into the Rockies this summer, and we're heading out in the TT.

I figure I've got a few more years of being able to carry both of them around in this car. At that point, they'll be asking mom to drive them places

When I got the car, the plan was to be able to use it as a DD with them. Without the need for 4 seats, I would probably have gone with a gt3 instead and something else for snow.

2 kids - 3 and 5. I have some after market kid seats which fit perfectly (took me ages to find them - and found them at target would you believe - only seats that match and are good for both kids I found). I take them to school and pick them up every day - I have got it so down packed now that in many ways I find it easier to run them around in the TT than our SUV.

3 and 5 yr olds too. A few toys in the back and a Laurie Berkner CD and we're good to go!

I use the 997TT as my daily driver with until recently the Porsche child seats replacing the standard rear seats. For our latest trip (from Qatar via Saudi to The Emirates), I re-installed the standard seats that fit our 7 and 5 YO children well. No comfort problems whatsoever with long drives but will bring the DVD player again next time to keep the girls occupied as the Saudi/Emirate landscape is rather boring... ;-) For the second year in a row, I drove the fabulous track of Jebel Hafeet near Al Ain, brilliant!!!

My 8 and 11 year old boys fit fine for shorter trips. Longest trip so far has been about 1 hour and as long as the kids have their Nintendo DS's then there are no complaints. I'm only 5'10" so there is a small amount of leg room behind me. There is abour 1-2" of clearance from the seat backs to their legs. I don't want to think what would happen in a crash.

Which seats did you buy from Target? Seems silly to spend $600 per Porsche child seat. Of course I'd pay anything for the safety of my kids, but I can't imagine that the Porsche seats offer more safety than a quality seat that one can find at Target. Maybe I'm wrong...comments welcome.

Absolutely crazy to spend 600 per seat. IMO these are more comfortable for your kids anyways since they dont have the big thing going across their lap.

This is not target - but is the seat though. http://www.shopping.com/xPO-Cosco-Co...Car-Seat-Jacob - I would check they reviews - mostly positive - and I have to agree.

ignore the reviews referencing the latch - unless your using it in car with a latch - which the TT does not have.

Well, it depends what your time is worth. I tried a bunch of other seats (Britax, Recaro, etc), but I didn't like the fit. I even exchanged email with someone who said their Roundabout fit just fine in the back, and got him to send me a few pics. Finally the details came out: "well, it almost fit, and it is a little sideways, but I got it mostly tight..." Not for me or my kids.

At that point I gave up, knowing that any more time spent on this wasn't worth it to me. A quick trip onto the internet, a couple of days for delivery, and the Porsche seats fit perfectly.

And I was also interested to see the reaction from my kids about the "big thing going across their lap." Nada. Zip. Nothing. They like it as much as the 5 pt harness. Plus, I believe it would work better in a crash due to a much larger surface area as the crush zone (as opposed to 5 small belts stretching) in a crash.

I've used the Porsche booster in the front seat of a 996 cab. You'll need the deactivate bar for the 996, and the required programming, to disable the airbags.

On a 997, things get a little more complex. There's a deactivate kit, but it appears that the smart airbag (with the weight sensor) should disable the bag too. I haven't looked into what really works here.
