Uni Chip?

Does anyone have this on a 997tt? What do you think of this. If any one has any information on this please chime in thanks. Friend of mine wants to give it for free but I have heard nothing of this chip.

I have heard of Unitronics in the VW scene, they seem to be right there with APR, Revo and GIAC as far as gains go.

Never had one on my car I went with GIAC.

Sorry I was not too much of a help.

Not sure if it's the same. However I was told that with the chip the car has to be dyno tuned. Thanks for your help.

i had the unichip on my 997s supercharged car. It came with the TPC SC kit. The unichip "piggybacked" onto the OEM ECU and takes over with its own engine maps. It mostly worked well, but I did notice the transistion from OEM to the unichip while driving. So, I would say unichip should be OK, but I would not piggyback it.

You mean you felt it was not as smooth as oem? Didn't quite get you. Thing is with this uni chip they will have to dyno tune my car. I just wanted to know if this was ok because nearly everyone on this board gets a ready made software. I would assume dyno tuning should be pretty safe.

Yes, as a piggyback system - there was not a smooth transition at certain rpms and load levels. If it is stand alone ECU - it may be OK. But, in either case - dyno tuning would minimize any issues and maximize the smoothness. I did not get any dyno time, only road test and data collection time. So dyno tuning would have probably solved my issues completely.
