What sucks about the 997 TT OEM Wheels?

too heavy for a performance car and the offset is too mild. I originally hated the styling but it has grown on me over time - apparently has grown on other manufacturers too from all the copycat styling now

too busy/fussy looking, too blingy. mebbe ugliest rim porsche ever made, imo. get something subtle... like dymags. heh heh

I like the stock wheels with the painted spokes , I have those also with the center hub's black along wuth the lug barrels black also..

OEMs are good wheels - relatively light, strong, don't show dirt, etc. They always have been good, especially on the turbos.

But I think a lot of people just like to have something different and unique. It's a matter of personal opinion, taste and intended use. For what they are, they offer a lot of value when purchased as slightly used take-offs.
I agree completely with this, I personally love the stock wheels on a slightly lowering.
