With the new US rules and regs, it may be harder to make them lighter. Making them lighter would be a huge bump in the price... no?

how much lighter would you guys like to see... 1200-1300kg

If you can get 700 HP with an ECU tune and some bolt on mods, why would Porsche need to change the platform?

Its easier for the TT cars, but for the NA cars, it will fall behind even further. They need to bump the displacement to keep up with the competition. The last generation GT3 was a true competitor of a 360CS, the replacement of the CS is the Scuderia, instead of competing with a GT3 as before, its actually a GT2 competitor now.

With some tuning and minor mods, nearing 500hp doesn't seem out of line for the next gen 3.8 liter GT3 as it's already reported to be putting out approx 435hp and we all know Porsche tends to under rate their cars, so it's probably closer to 450 than 435. Exhaust, maybe diff cams and some magic performed by our favorite tuners and I bet 500 is within reach, not bad for a N/A car! So, unless the flat 8 was made of extremely light materials, I don't really see a need for it, though I bet it would sound amazing!

I really don't see the reason. Honestly if you wanted a quick car you would buy a Porsche. If you wanted a ridiculously fast Porsche you would buy a RUF. If you wanted a ridiculously fast RUF you would buy a 9ff. So many options why add displacement? Do what RUF has been doing for years remap that M97 or A91 now engine and add some larger turbos and you have a recipe for disaster.

Honestly did anyone know that RUF's RGT already had a 3.8 liter engine in it since early 2000? Porsche is behind but lagging for a reason. The 911 is an icon people are forgetting that getting their heads into this hp race. Focus people.

Also for the Scud vs GT3 debate, the 360 CS was 100k more expensive than the GT3 after MSRP and markups. So by the GT3 being able to compete with that car was astonishing for Pcar owners and lovers. Now that the Scud has 500 or so hp the GT3 is no longer in comparison. But that GT2 handles incredibly just as well if not better, and achieves driver satisfaction not just garage queen satisfaction. Ferrari had to step their game up and they raised the bar to finally matching the GT2 and still at a higher price.
