Hello forum, Could use input in buying

Hi, I'm thinking of buying and going to check out this car tomorrow
http://chambers.porschedealer.com/20...42841/info.php

Had a Porsche Boxster S in 2002 but don't know to much about 911 Turbo. Right now I'm driving an Audi RS4 Cab but getting the itch for something new and the 911 Turbo seems like a great car. Car seems pretty well equipped with features I would want and really like the color. One thing I'm unsure of is those sports bucket seats? I like to be comfortable when driving and wonder how my 6' 1" 210 lb body going to fit in them? Any tips I should know going into dealer and what can I expect to get off MSRP? If I get I will use this site as much as possible to learn about car. I am into modding and probably first would be exhaust, I have a Tubi now and love it. Also a Gruppe M intake, Unitronic flash and HRE M40's. So I know the modding can get expensive. One last thing, I take a bunch of crap on Audi forums for having a girlie Cab, But I don't track cars and really like top down driving, Will I be considered girlie if I get a Cab? Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give me. Here is my RS4, Anybody want to buy it? Would make a great daily Driver

Welcome .
Nice cars BTW. The one item I see missing on the Turbo is the axle lock (option) . It's not a dealbreaker but worth noting . Sports bucket seats are beautiful but it was raised by one forum member that he found them uncomfortable enough to trade in his car . I have been on the fence with adding them and at 5'10" and 150 lbs even though I fit in them and so does my girlfriend I can't be sure every passenger will nor do I know how a long drive would be like .

Price - The used market has knocked so much money off cabs that it makes buying a new one about 20K more . Used pricing has begun to climb recently.

At 158K you can almost count on 20K off MSRP . With rebates/incentives you may even get more but a used one would land you in the sub 120K range and that's a bargain.

A forum member on the 997 section told me that the northeast is facing "cab season" . with less cars and higher demand you may decide to shop in Florida or California both of which have more cabs less seasonal demand as its warm year round.

Love that combo. I dont like cabs I dont understand turbo Cabs
But I like that one. I love the seats but check em out. Take at least
a 30 minute test drive. Check used prices as YYRalis said.
I am going to buy a TT too and the used game is ALOT cheaper.
That car if it was a 07 would be 90K or less and a 08 95-100.
SO even at 138 is that car worth it? He would have to go 40k or more
for me, but I know alot about the used market.
I wont blame you if you buy it at any price.

nice color! friend of mine has 09 c2s cab in the same color; loves it! turbo
cab is a totally different animal compared to a RS4 cab; though yours
probably goes like stink! (very nice by the way) you will not be called
"girlie" driving a turbo cab on this forum; similar to owning gallardo spider check out Ruf cab on youtube, you'll see what i mean. i almost bought
white turbo cab, lost out to another bidder (beautiful car; shucks!)
15% off MSRP would be a great deal; i had to go south to get the best
deal. northeast dealerships were not too fexible; i would not go below
12%. i have sport adaptive seats, very comfy even on long trips > 5hrs

a great pick & color! good luck and let the mods begin (Tubi system &
GIAC with H&R springs/sways on mine)

I am almost your exact size (ok I am currently at 217), I sat in a new C4S with the sport buckets and there is no way that I would buy a car with those seats. They look awesome, and for a track toy they would provide great lateral support. The problem I had was head room, the car I sat in was a coupe, and the sport buckets sit taller then the adaptive sport seats that I have and there is not enough head room. I was ok in the car, higher then I would like to be for sure, but there is no way I could fit in the car with a helmet.

I also felt that the seats were a bit much for a DD, but perfect for a toy...

Also for what its worth, I love driving with the top down, but I don't like 911 Cabs. For me the roof line is just ruined, and visibility with the top up is compromised, but no, not girley.

Welcome. Sounds like you're interested in modding but perhaps under a tight budget? If that's the case then buying used could be the solution. If you want a cab, then get a cab. Who cares if a convertible Audi is girlie? Just like who cares if a TT cab is girlieman.

I got a silver '08 TT cab 2 wks ago and love it. The deal was also very good for a semi-used car with only 6K miles on it. I love cabs and this is my 6th convertible car in 18yrs. My suggestion is to stick to what you like. Who cares about what everyone else thinks. It's your car. Good luck!
