Headlight Lens Cracked

My headlight lens cracked cuz someone backed into it. In short, I need a new replacement, however there are 2 types of headlights available, one with halogen bulbs the other with HID. My dilemma, could I take out the HIDs from my cracked headlights and buy the headlight with halogen bulbs and switch them out?

i doubt it, i believe they require different wiring, parts, etc. But I am wondering why you would want to do that..

It costs $1000 vs $500, If possible anyone know where to just buy the headlight assembly without the HID?

albuht813 is infamous around these parts
I'm not completely sure, but to be safe, I would match your replacement lamp to one already existing. Only b/c the projection/refraction of light may differ since they may be designed to be used with a particular bulb type.
