final decision
Hello, I 'm a member from belgium, europe. At this moment I'm driving a 996 turbo from 03 with x 50 , car is stock and I never mod my cars. I love my car but saw an 997 turbo for sale from 2007 and with a lot of options, pccb and sport chrono, heated seats, and a lot of more and it is a manual. I have to decide this week if I'm going to buy it, so my question for you 6 speeders is: Is there a lot of difference between a 996 and a 997 turbo ? lPlease help me , because I need your help to make a good decision.
Although I still love and miss my last 996TT, the 997TT is a 996TT with a modern update. The exterior (especially the head lights), interior, and feel of the car is just seems like a more updated and current version. The 7 also looks a more curvy and more classic Porsche than the 6. I have no regrets and I tell you the more I look at the 997TT, makes me miss my 996TT less and less. If finances allow you to do it, I say pull the trigger.
one man's opinion -hope it helps

Reason --The structural and interior improvements in the 997 line blow away the 996 . The refinement is felt almost immediately . I would even rather have a 997S over a 996tt . In fact I did buy a 997S over a 996tt .
The 997tt is by far the best car I have ever had . If you must leave your car stock it may be worth test driving a 997S because the new DFI normally aspirated engine can run quite well against a stock Turbo and comparing the cost ... makes the decision harder .
If you decide to modify though it does not take much to transform a 997 Turbo from a luxury type car into a very fast beast.
Good luck .

Thanks guys for the input, but I decided (with my wife) to invest my money in changing our house. I ' m very dissapointed because it was really a super car with all the extras I wanted. I feel that I'm going to regret this for a long time ......
