Best place to purchase a helmet?

Assuming that somewhere on the internet - vice a local motorcycle shop - is the most affordable place to buy a new helmet, I'd appreciate any leads to suppliers who are reputable and offer good deals. I want to participate in an upcoming DE. Any thoughts on a full vs. 3/4 helmet (my preference) would also be appreciated...obviously I'll be looking for the latest SNELL certification, but otherwise something plain and simple.

My last helmet was purchased here:

Shortly after that I sent it to Tyler at Censport for paint. He did an amazing job.

I would be very cautious in buying a helmet without carefully trying them on and comparing numerous models. The headshape designs of different helmets/manufacturers vary widely and you need to find one that best fits your head as well as size. Once you find a helmet line that fits well, you can go up or down in features and costs. But a poor fitting helmet is an unpleasant and potentially unsafe experience.

Also. Many people don't know or realize that motorcycle helmets are not rated for automotive racing. There are different ratings and if you plan on pushing the limits on 4 wheels then shop accordingly. I know there is a link to "cheap" safe helmets on the 24hoursoflemons.com site. I'm currently looking to purchase there so I can race a lemon.
