You do not need to remove the steering wheel to get the column off..for that matter, you don't even need to remove the bottom cover.

There are several torx screws below the column which is a two piece unit. After unbolting, the top half should come off...you need to wiggle the plastic tabs go pull the cover off...the microphone is below...there are several plastic hubs and adapters for the wiring.

Thanks for the answer, I have tried to get the upper part off, but after unscrewing the two torx it did not come off, but I will try again, just frightened to break something.. Is it clipped to the bottom part or is it just laying on it??

I can do better. I always find it easier to figure out how things are assembled if you can look at the parts ahead of time...here are some pics:

Picture 1 shows you the entire column together...they are not snapped together...they are hinged together. If you are sitting in front of the steering wheel, the hinge is closer to the dash...further away from the steering wheel.

Picture 2 shows you the hinge mechanism

Picture 3 shows you two torx screws on the bottom piece. They are located closer to the steering wheel.

If you unbolt the two torx screws closer to the steering wheel on the bottom piece, the part should open like a clam shell. You may have to wiggle the tabs off the leather/rubber piece that connects the top cover to the dash.
