Clutch Slipping??? or Lossing Traction???

After my mods. Tubi Race & EVOMsit 600HP I think I might be doing damage to my stock clutch. Can the stock clutch safely handle 600HP?

-Whenever I pin the throttle in 2nd,3rd(4K-5K) The car pulls like hell but once it hits somewhere between 4,500-5,500 the rpm gauge just rises faster than usual(same speed, just more revs). Seems like im lossing traction but am I really lossing grip @ 60,70MPH?. Could this be the clutch or just the tires lossing traction?

-Or could it be i dont have ReCirc valves?

If the tires have a lot of miles on them....could be them slipping. After I have 10K or so on the rears, I notice slipping, but usually it is under hard acceleration in first. Again too, it depends on clutch mileage as well, but clutch should slip when pull is the toughest in first.

It is certainly possible. You are running a lot more. Normally the clutch will slip and the revs will go up and the car will not be pulling. Sounds like this happening. Do you smell anything weird? The smell and the slip is normally the giveaway.

Go on the freeway and put your car in 6th. Give your car some WOT blips and watch your tach. You are likely slipping your clutch from the higher level of torque you are producing. The clutch disk is probably fine, but the pressure plate on the stock setup is too weak. The Sachs 2 setup uses the same disk, but a stronger pressure plate to give a near identical pedal feel, and may be a worthy choice as mentioned above.

This is the clutch slipping. The good news is this is confirmation that your car is making at least 550-600 ft-lbs of torque (the Turbo's clutch supposedly begins to slip at this point).
My GIAC stage 2 Turbo does the same when I pin the thottle beginning at 2000 rpm.

Clutch is definately slipping. Same thing happened to me. It freaked me out the first time. It's time for a Sach's stage 2.

so it looks like that the 997TT will need a clutch upgrade when it reaches Stage II mod(exhaust and ECU).

how much does the parts and labor cost for the Sachs 2 setup? Also, how much HP/TQ can the Sachs 2 handle?

Do you have to remove the rear suspension components to get to the clutch? I would hate to do this as i just got the car corner balanced and aligned!!

No...this Doug's car when he did his conversion in Dallas. Corner balance may change very very slightly.

Yes...transmission must come out.

Most places will charge $500-900 for the labor.

Sometimes, mine is holding up fine with that setup so far but the car is babied for the most part, about 12k on her now, vast majority with the flash and exhaust on it.
