JS1967 is infamous around these parts
When I bought my car in January with 3500 miles on it I had the dealer run a scan of the over revs. It read:

Range 1 - 806 129.2h
Range 2 - 104 112.9h
Range 3 - 3 112.9h
Range 4 - 0
Range 5 - 0
Range 6 - 0

Total hours 129.2
I would find another car if I were the OP.

I would hate to see what my report would look like now.

Go ahead and buy it. Get an extended third party warranty if the range 5 bothers you (it shouldn't). If you want no ranges, order a new one to spec and wait for 6 months.

The only thing that bothers me was that the range 5 was pretty recent.

Either way, enjoy!
Hopefully no offense will be taken, but I think that people who are advising you to walk (or run) away from a car with 4-6 over revs also base that opinion on the fact that as Larry said, there are SO many good cars available, why even take the risk. If it were me, I would be worried about any range 4-6. I am not an expert, but I am someone who has done a lot of research on this topic and I feel confident in the opinions of those who have educated me on this topic. I can tell you that my local dealer also told me, no way they would CPO a car with ANY range 5 or 6.

the dealership wasn't too happy that i backed out of the deal this morning. they really didn't understand why the DME readout was such a big deal and didn't like the fact that I told them whomever was driving the car the past 20 hours or so lost them the deal !
