non PASM suspension upgrades
non PASM suspension upgrades
Have always been a contrarian-looking at all options including pasm and non pasm upgrades-very dissappointed with the stock suspension in stock or sport mode-looking at the KW thoughts-versus Bilstein
Don't really care for the PASM-prepared to tighten for track and soften for winter Canadian driving-thoughts.....just want the car to feel like a sports car versus a softened version as the stock 997TT-disappointing

Most people on this forum love the Bilstein PSS10. They are PASM compatible and work well but not for serious tracking.
I have not used the KY's myself so i cannot comment on them.
Depending on how much you want to spend, and from what i am hearing, you want a fully adjustable suspension.
You can check out this thread, it might help:

Anyone uses Pensky on this forum? The guys that used to work or made Pensky made Moton or something to this fact. Which one will be the most adjustable for different track applications?

When we first took deliver of our 997TT, one of the first mods we did was the suspension.
We worked directly with Moton on the disabling of the PASM so there we no faults as well as the design of the front swaybar mounting tabs.
While we loved the Moton set up on the car, the ride was a little too firm for most considering how many test rides we gave in the car.
We are now running the Bilstein Damptronics along with H&R swaybars.
We still have the complete Moton kit. If anyone is interested, email me.
For the record, Jerome, founder of Moton, was the "J" of JRZ. Both he and "R" left to start their own companies. Jerome was never a part of the Penske organization.
Moton is based in the Netherlands with U.S. offices in Georgia. We have been working with them for years. In our opinion the product and customer service is one of the best. They have been a real pleasure to work with.

I can understand about the stiff ride but you have options:
1- compression setting
2- rebound setting
3- leave it at 150 PSI tops front and 175 rear
4- Mainly the spring rate on the springs is going to be your next factor.
I am running 4 rebound rear, 3 front. 4 compression rear, 2 front 900/600 springs. the ride is a bit stiff on bumps but everywhere else is very smooth and a lot of grip.
PM me what you would let go of the kit for, I will probably take it.
As far as the Bilsteins, they are great for a street car but what did not impress me was more the sport mode from Porsche and not so much an issue with the Damptronics. It felt almost too harsh other than that, the PSS10's are the best bang for your $.
I have the Intrax 4 Way Titanium Suspension( http://www.intraxracing.nl/?lang=EN) on my 997 GT2. You can get the suspension from FarnbacherLoles(http://www.farnbacherloles.com/) in the USA. The Intrax 4 Way Titanium Suspension is much better than the stock suspension on the track and you can change the settings to make it the car ride better on the street than the OEM suspension. I can give you all the setup information if you decide to go in that direction.
Compared to stock you'll certainly feel a firmer ride. However, it's adjustable, so for track days you can firm it up, and use the more street friendly settings for day to day use.
Depending on how you have your swaybars set, you'll also notice that they change the ride of the car. We recommend using the RSS adjustable swaybars and RSS adjustable endlinks.
