GT3 cup tires (24/64-18 and 27/68-18) in the 997TT...

These tires can be bought at a very low price with 50% wear, but as the AWD system is very sensitive with front and rear tire diameter, will the 6% of difference be okay for our cars (OE size has 3%)?

those are racing compounds (read..not for street) and I would think the number of heat cycles would mean a lot more than 50% wear...good luck

I can buy a used set for less than 200€ while the semi-slicks i only find +700€. I'm only planning to track the turbo 2 or 3 times per year. I already track it twice with street tires (Michelin PS2) and with the new event coming i would like to try better tires to try to keep up with some race-preparared p-cars and GT3's.

Can you give a better feedback about the how the turbo handle with slick tires in the track?

I'm not clear on what kind of tires you're asking about, but if you're asking about PilotSport Cups (DOT Cup tires), as the OE from a GT2, I recommend them if you're willing to put up with replacing them 3 times a year. I have been running them since I wore out my OE tires and love them.

As for causing any traction control or ABS issues, I really can't say, but I haven't tripped any lights.

r comps turn the turbo into very capable track car. The main difference is the added front grip. The stock tires are way undersized in front for such a heavy car

The point is if i'm willing to change the tires each time i go to track, why the hell will i buy the semi-slicks like the Michelin Cups when i can buy full slicks and have the best of both worlds: street - street tires; track - slick tires.

You are tempting me so much about the slicks... So you are saying that there is no problem with the AWD system of the 997TT to use that size even with 6% difference between front and rear tire diameter.

I see your question.

You can run slicks no problem. I'm assuming you're talking about some cup take-offs on 18's?

The OP question is about racing slicks --not about any road based tire whatsoever.
I am presuming his question is about the effect of the different rolling diameter of the tire compared to oem- and the potential effect on the ABS etc-- correct?
