New 2010 TT Order

Hi,

I am thinking about getting the new turbo when it starts being sold in the US. I have done this configuration on the website, what do our configuration experts think about it?

Are we able to start making orders now?
When should the first deliveries be delivered?
What would be the best price I could get for this config?
I am willing to export this car to Morocco, do you know any dealership with enough export quota?

I think your specs look good. You might consider PO1 (Adaptive Sport Seats) - they are great.

Oh Porsche... $1815 to paint a set of wheels? You are sort of stuck though because you at least need to order center-locks and it would be a huge pain to refinish the wheels yourself once you get the car. You might consider getting the "standard" center-locks and picking up a set of HRE or Champions in black as an alternative.

It looks like it will be a very nice car.

the center locks in black look great, otherwise nice specs.

I am a hardcore manual driver though interested in trying a double-clutch transmission with pedals like in a ferrari. Do you know if the pedals come standard when you choose PDK+chrono package or do you have to mention it somewhere? Or is it when choosing the steering wheel?

Sparkhill is right on the money on ordering the adaptive sport seats. They are one of the better options and you'll suffer grinding regret you didn't order them. Oh, and paint that side rocker too.

I almost suggested the same thing but it still irritates me that I paid $585 to have my front lip painted at the factory when I can get a new one from Suncoast and have it painted locally all for about $200. I wonder if you should just order all four lowers from Suncoast, paint them locally and install once you get the car. For some, it may not be worth the trouble but doing so would just about pay for the Adaptive Seats.

I guess painting is something I can do locally as labor is pretty inexpensive. Though what is not painted normally? do they come plastic black or what?

I would not paint the lowers, with black wheels I think it looks awesome, very RS like. Scrapes, scratches in the lowers are no biggie when all black and unfinished but it will drive you mad if painted and chipped or scraped.

If you drop that thing it will look sick as it is. I also highly recommend the adaptives and red belts if you want to brighten it up a bit in the cabin / blow money on silly stuff, hell I did.

The following are typically NOT painted:
CNE-Spoiler Lip Painted
CNG-Lower Rear Apron Painted
XAJ-Side Skirts in Exterior Color

Painted lowers look good with black wheels too.

Thanks sparkhill! I guess it looks amazing painted. I will do it locally as it's not expensive and the quality of the job is awesome.

Though for the wheels, I am hesitant. I have some friends who painted their wheels (glossy or mat black or even in metallic grey like the body paint) and it looked great. Though I am not confident enough if the wheels paint would be like an OEM one. Does porscheuse normal paint? or some special porsche paint and special painting tools/technic?

I think you just pay the money and have Porsche paint the wheels at the factory. It would not be worth the hassle of putting the car on stands, unmounting the tires, painting (or powder coating) the wheels, remounting the tires, and finally reinstalling the wheels. If the wheels were not centerlocks, you could just slap something else on but with centerlocks, you are sort of stuck paying Porsche.

If you know you want dark rims and you like the centerlock wheels, I'd just go ahead and pay to have them painted from the factory. You won't have any quality control issues, and you'll have much less hassle. The finished product will look sharp on a white car!

I have normal sport seats in my 997S and dont see the use of the power seats. I am the only one driving the car and rarely change the driving position. Am I missing something? In my mind the adaptive sport seats are sport seats with memory and electronic adjustments?

LOTS of adjustments! I ordered them largely because of encouragement from feedback from others here and elsewhere. You will not be unhappy you got them.
