PDK costs around $4000 and is quick, smooth and no clutch. Of course you have to buy a new car to go along with it. For a retro fit, it's a half way measure. Somebody will be buying it I'm sure, just not me. No offense to GMG, I have high regard for your outfit.

Off topic...does anyone know what happens with PDK when you are in 4 and want to go to 2nd gear? Do you have to go through 3?

I am well aware of the advantages of sequential but as far as I knew sequential boxes were clutchless.

i think manual to sequential converts do have 3 pedals, but that is not what is advertised in the video... its a nice new concept for sure, but its misleading info and marketing... I will pass, but I love the idea of development...

On a Cup car you need to use the clutch to engage 1st gear than you just bang through the gears with your foot to the floor. Downshifting requires the use of a clutch

If GMG could chime in and let us know that you can be flat during upshifts then maybe this system has some merit.

Manual clutches are available on the majority of race sequentials.

For taking off in first gear and for launching from a dead stop.

Correct, only on a cup, some guys do actually use the clutch to preserve the gearbox and not have to rebuild it so often, but the clutch can certainly be used.

I agree that GMG would be helpful in explaining exactly how this works. It could just be like the new no-lift shift from GM that's in the CTS-V and ZR-1 too I think, or it could just be a way to be lazy without buying a tip.
