Are the dealers asking too much for their used TT?
Good evening guys!
thinking of a 07-08 TT with low mileage (<5000 miles). I would perfer to purchae one from porsche dealership for the peace of mind (cpo), but seem like their prices are pretty high compare the deals people are getting here, really not much to choose from for under 100k.
My budget is 90k or less and i won't be picky on the options. Manual, Sport Chrono, sport seats, are all the options that i really want. I can probably live without the sport seats, but definately perfer to have them.
am i being realistic on my budget for the car that i am looking for or i am deaming and should wait for another year?
Also, what are the good sources to look for a TT other than autotrader and cars.com ?
Thanks alot guys, I hope you all have a wonderful evening.

I don't know about the market up North, but I think you'd still be hard pressed to find a 07-08, CPO'd, with less than 5000 miles on it for less than low-mid 90's.
Not sure you have to wait a full year, but right now, I think your goals are slightly unrealisitic. Just my opinion.

The following are wholesale auction transactions. The dealers have to make some money and CPO costs extra. Bottom-line: it will be tough to find a CPO 997TT (with less than 5,000 miles) for under $90K.

The $156K 2008 was a GT2.

Wow, Thanks alot for the info guys. 08s are out of the range according to the auction prices. I should probably look at a little higher mileage 07 cars according to my budget, or up my budget a little.
What do you guys think the price is going to be in January - February 2010. 2-4k drop in price? of course the mileage will be a little higher again.
Thanks alot!

I believe if you are a current Porsche owner, you can bring the car in and have it CPO'd for a few grand..? NO? A close friend worked for audi and they would do it all the time.

By insisting on a CPO 2007 you are severly reducing the inventory available and further shrinking it by the very low miles you seek..You will likely end up going with a higher mileage car and then taking whatever color & options it has...plus paying for shipping...Does a CPO really count for this much with the famous bulletproof TT?

That's ridiculous, CPO or not. Low-mid 80's...maybe.
I was hoping someone would tell me that. Really! Since I wasn't on the market for a Turbo until today, this was a great piece of info so that I can work my salesman into lowering this price. Of course, I got to do my homework and see what other cars are out there. Thanks!

I searched for 7 months and finally found a 2007 Turbo from a Porsche dealer in Southern California that had an original sticker of 141K. Gorgeous GT Silver with black interior and nice options including deviated GT Silver stitching everywhere, Sports Chrono, painted seatbacks GT Silver, painted center console GT Silver and lots more. Best part was car only had 1800 miles on it. Dealer would not CPO the car since they were already losing money on the car and they had car for a while after taking it in on trade. CPO would cost dealer $2000 more. Car still under factory warranty until March, 2011. They wanted over 110K initially back in February, 2009. I kept watching it and calling on it every month and I ended up getting it for 93K. More than the auction prices but I basically got a brand new Turbo and saved around 50K. Really loving it now since it appears that the 2007-2009 Turbo engines are the real deal with true dry sump and the last of the GT1 based engine and made before VW took over
If you look hard enough, the deals are out there...
