I was wondering what is going to happen if you overfill your engine oil during an oil change?

I did mine myself and in the beginning I only put 7 quarts in the engine.

Then I started the car and waited for the engine to warm up.

I checked the oil level and showed half full.

I added about 3/4 of a quart and then checked again.

Now is always showing totally full.

The instructions I had showed 8.5 quarts needed for an oil change without the touching the oil in the Turbos.

I believe it should be OK but I am just wondering.

If you were truly at one half and added 3/4 quart you're going to be fine...

 

should be fine as long as you didnt run it for too long.
