997 GT2 Boost/Power Loss
Im facing the same problem now for about 2 weeks. The car went to the dealer twice and tomorrow will be the third time. The first time i took it nothing appeared to them and when they took it for a test drive they got 1.4 bar which i doubted, took it back home nothing changed. The secound time the guys at the dealer were guessing !! " It may be of your spark plugs that we forgot to change at 20K km or your air filter do the major 30K km service and it will be fine " my car has 27,000 km now and i took the car back from the dealer yesterday after the 30K service but couldnt drive due to bad whether, drove it about an hour ago from 2nd till 6th gear a couple of times redlining up to 300kph and it's still showing 1.2-1.3 bar !!!!
Im taking Hlisk opinion as he had faced the problem that i have, going to check EGT sensor, Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensors tomorrow and hope that this where the problem is.

GT-Silver,
I installed Cat-Bypass pipes on my car before my last event in Nov.
The EGT sensors had been replaced two events before the last one. The Cat-Bypass pipes really helped. But on Sunday the EGT sensors started to pull the boost back but the Cat-Bypass pipes kept the boost to 12/15 psi that allowed me to still have a good day.
I had new EGT Sensors installed last week. The boost is back up to 20 psi and I did see 21 psi twice. The Cat-Bypass pipes work, next I will install Fab-speed headers. I am looking at moving the EGT sensors 3 inches extra from the turbos.

The best way to check if there is a problem is do a 60-130mph run on a performance box and check the performance -starting in 3rd it should be around the ~8 to 9s mark....
GT-Silver did you solve your problem???
I tuned my car and i think the problem is coming back again, i will do a test tonight with the durametric to see if its the high IATs or maybe its an exhaust leak since i upgraded my car.

Hi RUF-QTR
The problem in my car was that the diverter valves needed lubrication as its plastic thats what my dealer had told me and i wasnt convinced, took the car and i was reaching 1.4 at 5krpm~ and its back to normal, but that was only for two days then it went back to 1.3 bar !! i really dont know what to do , im confused it may be an exhaust leak or something to with the diverter valves.
I just installed cat bypass pipes and tuned the car will test the car tomorrow and if the problem is solved it may have been an exhaust leak if not i might change the diverter valves which i dont know whether it will a differ or not also i have no idea about aftermarket diverter valves and why people change them .
0.1 Bar may be insignificant but the car itself feels different doesnt have the power delivery as before, because im getting 1.3 bar at 6krpm~ and near redline where i used to get 1.4 bar at about 5krpm.
I doubt it got to do with the intercoolers getting hot as the whether here in kuwait is reaching 5-6 degrees C and i guess the weather is also cold in qatar, and i think what DINpower mentioned earlier in the thread is wrong i think i meant the opposite.

Remember the boost will vary, in warmer weather you will see more boost and cooler weather less boost
Sorry, I was still referring to the OP's original post.
Yes i guess our fuel here in the middle east is the main problem,
here in Qatar 97 octane is equivelent to 92.15 octane US and i think in Kuwait its 90-91 octane.
I think 1.3 bar is normal in 3rd gear for it happens to me sometimes, also dont forget its very cold right now in Kuwait so the turbos adjust to the atmospheric pressure. but for the higher gears at 4k + Rpm i always see 1.4 bar
I guess its the mental factor of 1.3 bar thats bothering you , i just came back from a test , i tested my car sevral times 100-200km with a full tank of fuel my best time was 6.6secs with the slight boost loss in 3rd gear on a straight road. Another similar speced Gt2 with intercoolers and 20kg less weight and lowered suspension did 7 secs from 100-200km... so you can see the psycological role factor here
I think the best thing to do is to test your GT2 from 100-200 km and see how it runs.
For your refrence the 997 GT2 stock does 100-200 in about 7.7 secs
