Paint Advice Wanted...

Exploring the option to paint all lowers on a 997tt… Mine is Arctic Silver. This is a much more costly venture than I expected. The dealer stated the costs for the parts are as follows….
fficeffice" /><O></O>
Rocker Panels - $827.37/each - these are a different finish from the standard black on the car currently and come primed ready for paint.
<O></O>
Front Valence - $985.64 – again different finish from the standard and comes primed and ready to paint
<O></O>
Rear Valence - $416.58 – for some reason??? The parts person stated this does not come and is not available in the same finish as above and would have to be ordered as it currently is on the vehicle. So, it does not come with the smooth finish, primed and ready for paint.
<O></O>
I’m looking at $3056.96 plus tax, plus paint, and installation. Is it worth it and has anyone been down this road before and considered the same.
<O></O>
Anyone have pics of their Arctic Silver tt with this done?
<O></O>
Thanks….

dealership is giving you a whole bunch of BS! I just painted all my lower valences at a 1/3rd of that price. you do not need any other parts if all you wanted is to have the lower pieces painted (not a new aero kit or something). take it to a reputable body shop and get a quote on how much to remove your lower pieces paint and re-install.

I have an arctic silver '08 997TT. It was the first mod I did right when I got it. My body shop did it and cost me around $800 to paint all 4 pieces(front lip, side rockers, and rear diffuser). I now have the Techart rear diffuser on but attached are some pics. IMO, it's a must-do to get these parts painted. The car looks so much better.

I did my Arctic '09 Turbo Cab. There is a trick to the color tinting to get it just right with Arctic (it is NOT standard 92U formulation), but we took the black lowers that were on the vehicle at delivery, and did it 'our way'...a bit off the beaten track from a standard body shop, and a boatload more time and labor, but we paint plastic all day, every day.

Took 9 formulations to get the color tinted exactly right (hey I'm ****, ok?). But you can take the vehicle as is to a top end shop, and assuming they understand lighting and tint, and can please your eye, they should be able to knock this out for a very reasonable sum.

Just be sure you are dealing with a painter and a shop who knows how to handle this material, and how to best tint for the lower sections.
