Question 997tt Central Diff failure

Hello guys,

My car started to make cracking noise from the front drivetrain.

We opened the central diff. which is coupled to the front differential.

Some of the lamellas are burnt and the housing of the bearing of the lamellas is broken into 4 pieces.

Porsche is selling the complete front diff which includes the central diff.

Do you have any idea where i can buy these parts seperately?

Thanks in advance

Not with an SPI 750 conversion...if there was ever an excuse to turn down a warranty claim, 700+ ft lb of torque is definately a red flag.

Try LA Porsche Dismantlers

911pcar.com/

I have picked up all sorts of replacement parts from them, even 997 stuff. Great service, reasonable prices, and excellent knowledge of p-cars, parts, etc.

Were you running stock sized wheels/tires? Any thoughts as to why the part failed? Di you do a lot of hard launches?

I haven't put the car on the dyno.

There isn't an accurate load dyno in my town.

Launching hard from standstill is always a recipe for disaster with AWD cars. I broke 2 transmissions till now(not Porsches). The shock of launching from standstill is killing them. Maybe the springless clutch has a part too in this, as it cannot act as a dampener
