Spoiler Lip painted or keep in black???
mdc,
There are three kinds of scrape to the front lip:
a. The underside is scraped when going up steep slopes. First time it happens the sound will make you feel you want to jump off the bridge, but this is no big deal. You won't see much of the damage because it's underneath.
b. The front is damaged by road pebbles/debris. Happens when you drive fast or when you follow other cars too closely, or just happens period. There is nothing you can do about this, especially if you drive the car like the way it should be. :-)
c. Parking lot blocks: Yes. Tends to happen once then you won't do it again.
Park assist does absolutely NOTHING for this matter.

New lip coming via Suncoast! And dayum, cannga. That Techart lip looks grrrrrrrrreat!
I ended up buying a half dozen...I go through a lip once a year, especially after dropping the ride height with the Damptronics.
Paint it, forget about it. I have spare, custom painted, sitting in our warehouse, ready when I destroy this one.

Arctic is a really tricky formula, and you should never paint the lowers with the matching formula for any of the upper body, it won't match. So we tweaked this seven times to make it right, had all the lower done after delivery (rear, front, sides). On many other colors (Black, White, Red, Speed) it's not as much of a hassle to match it.
Just get a spare....it's not too much to spend. I am still thinking about the Damptronics, and a lift kit, but not quite there yet.

I got "a" when I left the paint shop that had just painted my Techart front lip!
I really really thought the world was ending LOL (in retrospect it is no big deal).
As that wound was healing I got "c" with the same Techart lip a week later as I pulled into the parking lot at the local Porsche club meeting.
Sort of funny when I think about it now though. Wasn't then. $hit happens and it sure hurt less the 3rd time around.

I know the front has 2 different types of front spoilers, One meant to be painted and one to stay textured. Is the Factory side skirts meant to be painted? Any pics of a midnight blue car with painted lowers
Yes, you can paint the stocker. I feel that on the lighter colors it does look great and in the case of my Slate Grey 996 Turbo, it looked great (notice the silver 997Turbo in the background has a painted lip as well). I do not plan on painting my Basalt Black 997 Turbos lip.
