Talking 911 turbo - oversize wheels ?

Hi everyone,
I just bought a 911 turbo and the previous owner has installed 20" HRE wheels on the car. From following a couple of Lamborghini forums I learned that oversize wheels can damage the differential on those cars. Just wondering if there is any problems with the 911 turbo in this case?
Please consider that the tires are also wider from 305 to 325 in the back and from 235 to 245 in the front, is that ok?

Thank to all and happy holidays

the tire size sounds standard from what other members are running on here for 20's. also, there are several members rolling on 20's so I doubt it can be harmful.

The fitments are correct. I am running that setup and have no problems at all. 20" HRE wheels are a very high dollar upgrade, don't worry, your good

I was pretty sure it is ok. However I wanted to check because they are both larger diameter and wider than standard. Annnd I know guys here are the experts

It's not the width that kills the differential. It's the overall rolling diameters. As long as they are within 3% of stock, it'll be fine. Those that destroyed their diffs were running 315's (dunno the section width) in the back but the diameters were all wrong. I have 325/25/20; 245/30/20 and no problems.

Tire calculator

I've always used this handy calculator to determine if certain tires are appropriate. Just plug in the stock sizes and the sizes of the ones you plan on using to replace them.

Thanks a lot. I read the whole thread and I am glad I did. I am not sure what my front sizes are, but I will check that for sure.

BONHEAD is correct. 245/30/20 and 325/25/20 for the Porsche is dead on.

Also, a quick note. The Lambo's are definitely more picky when it comes to tire diameter and there is not much of a warning before you cost yourself a ton of money.

With that said, HRE will always recommend tires based first and foremost on the proper Diameter when compared to stock.
