Warming up a 997 TT

I just received 20" of snow in my area last week so my TT does not go out till the weather and the roads clear up. Is it ok to start the car and let it get up to temperature in my garage for 10 -15 minutes or is that bad for the car?? I rarely drive in the winter, but I like to start it and let it run a bit if I don't drive my TT for a few weeks for the battery/ and systems to run etc...

I do it, all the time, in new york we had about 12-16 inches, i warm her up once a week, thats why it is good to make sure you have a full gas tank when a winter storm is coming your way...

I would just let it sit until you can drive the car for at least 30 minutes allowing mechanicals to reach operating temps. Have the car sitting for weeks or even months when properly stored with a trickle charger is not a big deal.

Just starting and idling for say 20 minutes still does not allow the engine to warm properly (no load), and you will be causing unnecessary condensation to get mixed into your oil.

That was my concern mto, condensation in the oil? can you elaborate...Is this due to the fact that the engine gets up to temperature but without "running" the car it can be a bad thing with no load. Does this occur over time or every time it is warmed without a load?

DVDT is on a distinguished road
As mto said, best to warm up under load (moderate). Condensation occurs in cylinders since water is a product of combustion, also fuel mixture is rich when cold and thus fuel can mix with oil in cylinders. These contaminants get past rings and need sustained elevated oil temps to evaporate. As was suggested, a trickle charger is the better way to go until you can drive it long enough for oil temp to get to normal range.
