Is 25,000mi high on an '07?
Is 25,000mi high on an '07?
Hey all,
I'm thinking of getting back into a turbo, and found a really nice 2nd hand one in top condition, feels great/looks great, service history, etc. This one is a 1 owner car and has been used as a daily driver. The only downside is I'm used to buying cars either new or with less than 10k miles on them.
To those with experience in this model or who have put decent amount of miles on their cars, should I let it go and wait for a newer example, or is 25k nothing to worry about?

I think the average mileage a year (if it's your daily driver) is between 10-12,000 miles per year so that's not bad (maybe a tad high) for an 07. If it's CPO or has an extended warranty then go for it or I would highly recommend obtaining one upon purchase!

my '07 is just coming up on 30K and is great. TT surgeon here has I think 40K and another NY'er has even more; maybe 50K.
If the car has been well cared for and a good price I wouldn't let it bother me. Of course, a car with less miles for about the same price would be better.
The other plus on a car with some miles is any major issues would have most likely surfaced by now.

To give you an idea how ridiculously reliable 911s are here's some stats pulled from consumer reports:
Porsche 911's are more reliable than 98% of vehicles on the market
Porsche 911's receive for every component a maximum score of "much better than average" for reliability except for the speaker system and the "body hardware" category which covers door handles and convertible top latches. In these categories it receives only "better than average" ratings.
Honda Civics are more reliable than 100% of cars on the market
Honda Accords are more reliable than 82% of cars on the market
Ford Mustangs are more reliable than 59% of cars on the market
Audi A4s are more reliable than 52% of cars on the market
So yes 25k with a warranty would be reliable. I've seen plenty of these cars driven past 100k without incident. I would only be worried if there were at least that many miles on the clock or if the car was treated extremely poorly.

53,500 miles on my '08. DD and track car for 2 years (40 track days).
Car is fantastic and 25K is nothing. The only issues I had which were covered by warranty were 3 bad spark plugs and the slave clutch cylinder which is a known issue.
At 25K miles you may want to check if the spark plugs were replaced recently, as its recommended every 20k-ish miles and if you do it through the dealer it can be expensive. But this is a required maintenance, so no way around it, just hopefully the prior owner picked up the tab.
Otherwise the car is great and wont give you any surprises. Just the usual oil changes, brake pads, and tires.
When I was approaching 50K miles I took it to TKX Performance in Long Island where I do alot of my track mods just to have it inspected and see if anything needs to be addressed, but the car was rock solid.

You drop a bomb like that with no pictures?
I am asking because it was a surreal feeling when I got mine. I am sure it's the same for other folks here. It's like owning a piece of automotive history.
Cars come and go but 911 looked like 911 30 years ago, it looks like 911 today and it will look like 911 30 years from now. It's a timeless piece of performance art.
Congratulations!

Oh I will
It's an agonizing wait of 4 days while the dealer preps it for me (new brakes, guard decals, different steering wheel, etc). Can't wait!!!
