I think loss of ride quality b/w 19's and 20's is greatly exaggerated.
Width of the wheel has also affects the profile of the tire. So wider the wheel less profile you'll have.

I've had both. Its simply a matetr of ride comfort IMO. I prefer 19s on mine. 20s are nicer but you give up a lot...

19s for show
18s for GO
20s for rich posers who don't know any better

The guys who run 19s on the track.... why?

Any actual benefit in performance, or did you just have the 19" wheels left over when you upgraded to 20s for the street, so you use your old 19" for track wheels?

Unless things have changed drastically in recent years (educate me, if so) 19" rubber comes at a noticeable price premium over 18" and performs WORSE. If I am wrong, Porsche is as well along with all their customers who purchased quarter million dollar Cup cars from them this year.

Just wondering. I run 19" SSR wheels on the street on my M3 and 18" track rubber.

Nowadays, a well engineered 20" forged wheel will be low 20 lbs, lighter than all cast 19" wheels available on the market.

Food for thought.
