Has anyone with a 997tt experienced any issues with the front diff leaking oil from the shaft seals? Car has done only 6000kms since new. Porsche is fixing it under warranty no problem but I am curious whether this is a common problem or just a one off. Note:This oil leak is only minor but any oil leak is not good .

 

Had mine done under warranty about 24000 miles. Next thing you'll be getting changed-out are the turbo's! Then the radiators go!

 

I have a fried who faced a front diff leak with a 2 day old 07 C4S (back in 07) . His dealeship (in Norcal) replaced the entire setup under warranty --no more problems.

 

Thats interesting to hear they replaced the whole thing . They've opted to change mine out as well and have a complete assembly on A/F from germany . I was rather curious to know how many others were out there and if the seal leaks are associated to faulty shaft movement inside the diff rather than just simply faulty seals.

 

His car was only two days old . He was shocked because like many he waited years to buy his first porsche and hit a snag right out of the gate. The good news is .. taht it was fixed . So you'll be ok . Hang in there,.

 

Thats one good thing about Porsche.ive always found. They dont screw you around or over like I hear some other brands do. Sure its a bummer having any sort of problem on an expensive car like this but if there's something wrong they get it sorted and with a smile .

 

I agree . It is good to know that you don't face a big service issue resulting from amanufacturer defect with a voided warranty and a big bill --and to me that's all part of the Porsche pedigree .
