The Ultimate in Braking - Brembo Custom Race Brakes

With OVER 150 World Championships in top level motorsports (more than ANY other brake manufacturer in the world), it’s no secret as to who is the #1 choice when it comes to high performance braking. Always at the forefront of technology and innovation, Brembo is consistently raising the bar in which most other brake kit suppliers are forced to stand on piles of creative marketing and gimmicks to even attempt to reach at. So what is it that makes the best, the best? And when a company of Brembo’s stature makes it a philosophy to let the products speak for themselves, even going out the their way to avoid the games played with marketing and propaganda, how do you choose which of their world class product lines to handle the braking tasks for your ride? This is where Vivid Racing steps in with years of knowledge and first hand experience, as one of Brembo’s largest and most established Authorized Dealers to help make your choice a little easier.

We’ve all seen Brembo’s Gran Turismo brake kits many times before. It’s the original big brake kit, and easily recognized as the best value with it’s benchmark standard for quality, performance and longevity. You may also be familiar with Brembo’s newer line of GT-R (Gran Turismo – Race) brake kit’s featuring it’s nickle plated billet monobloc calipers, stainless steel vented piston inserts, twin seal technology, and amazing weight reduction/strength & stifness characteristics. BUT, did you know that Vivid Racing and our close relationship with Brembo/Race Technologies allows us to take your car one step further with Full Custom RACE kits, identical to what is being run in ALMS, Grand AM, World Challenge, WRC, etc…?

If your car see’s more track time that street use, runs on “R”-compound tires, has a power to weight ratio that no longer represents the vehicle as it came off the showroom floor, or is simply ready for what is TRULY the most unbelievable level of performance and quality ever built into kit form,…take a look at the images below and imagine yourself shaving full seconds off of your lap times at your favorite track venue.

Each kit is fine tuned based on a criteria that takes your current vehicle specifications, combined with your intended driving style and usage, to create a brake system that will take you deeper into the corners with all the control and finesse needed to carry the maximum speed past the apex and get back onto the throttle. All calipers are available in narrow body for sprint racing, time attack, or HDPE events -OR- wide body versions for endurance racing or just extended track sessions. All rotors are available in lightweight -OR- high heat capacity versions to further fine tune each system the driving style or track conditions.

This kit Includes:
FRONT: 6-Piston Fully Forged Race caliper w/ titanium piston inserts. (optional narrow or wide body versions)
REAR: 4-Piston Billet Race caliper w/ titanium piston inserts.
Available in 355mm - 380mm disc diameters to provide maximum heat capacity while saving maximum unsprung and rotational weight. (lightweight and high heat capacity options available)

The Brembo Full Race Big Brake Kit 6piston Front & 4piston Rear fits all 2001-2005 Porsche 996 Turbo, X50, and GT2. It also fits all 2007+ Porsche 997 Turbo and GT2. These kits are made to order and are specifically designed for your braking needs. Suspension, tire, vehicle weight, track type or race series all play into account how these kits are put together.

Believe it or not...and most people have no idea if they don't watch the sport...but NASCAR is one of (if not "THE") most demanding racing series for brakes.

This is partly due to the power to weight ratios of the vehicles, also due to the very restrictive size of the wheels for brakes, and very much a factor of the nearly highest average speeds of practically any racing series in the world.

Even if you are not a NASCAR fan...here's a really interesting read about the Braking Facts for the vehicles at each track from the 2009 race season...

http://www.brembo.com/BNA/Nascar/2009/

Click on a track, and take a look to the bottom right hand corner to read the "COMMENTS" box for each track.

You can also click on the actual "braking zones" of each track layout and see the average speeds entering the corner and the exit speeds after the braking cycle.

It's really cool stuff. Brembo also does this for the Formula 1 circuits each season.
