My 997.2 TT review
Picked this turbo last month from Porsche of Chattanooga. It has these options:
Xm radio, dynamic corning lights, heated stearing wheel, universal audio interface, floor mats interior color, outer door-sill guards ss, heated front seats, sports chrono package plus, bluetooth, adaptive sport seats, pdk, prep for illum door sill guard, park assist, seat belts silver, side skirts in exterior color, pdk gear selector/handbrake aluminum look, rear cnt console in aluminum, air vent slats aluminum look.

Yes I already scratched the front lip
This is my 4th Porsche and 3rd 911 Turbo. I have a 2005 Cayenne Turbo with over 100k miles on it and I will put another 100k on it.
I had a Polar Silver 1997 993 TT and most recently a 2002 Ruf Rturbo conv. but now both are sold.

My first sports car was a 2001 Corvette which I supercharged to 450 rwhp. It was fast but hard to launch and to me it felt like I was driving a boat. I sold that for the 993TT.
993TT vs 996TT
The 993TT was a great car but I fell in love with the power of the Ruf tuning. To me going from 993 to 996 was an upgrade in a more modern interior, more power and wider body. The downfall was losing the oval headlights design as I didn't really like the headlights in the 996. Also the 993 seemed to be more nimble on short turns but the Ruf suspension made up for that. I haven't driven other tuned cars but to me the suspension was strong and steady on the track but not too rough on the road. I got a lot of comments from DE instructors and other guys on how good it felt.
PDK
Driving a Cayenne daily I got used to the Triptronic and when the new PDKs came out on the 997s my interest was peaked. When I had the corvette I also had a GMC Typhoon. After some tuning we did 11.7 qtr mile, not bad for an old blazer. The awd and ability to step on the break, build up the gas and let her rip meant consistent launches every time. Not that I did it a lot but it was ridiculous quick.
I didn't want a PDK just for that reason. I am the opposite of most people here who love manual. The Ruf was quick but I could never shift super fast. The clutch lets out to me in such a strange spot that I was never that comfortable. Its probably just me though.
996TT vs 997.2 TT
I sold the Ruf 996TT before my 997.2TT arrived so no side by side pics. I love the new design and front end. In my opinion, this is the best looking 911 ever. One thing I loved about the 993TT was looking into the side mirrors and seeing the "hips" of the car stick out. To me that felt exotic. I couldn't tell in the 996TT because the Ruf mirrors changed the look so you had a wider view but I am glad the 997.2 kept that body design.
997.2TT first impressions
The doors feel heavy, like the 993 and you have to give a good effort to close them, reminds me of my first Porsche and brings a smile but I think most people might find it annoying. The interior is an upgrade from the 2002 model. I love the center console painted in aluminum and the illuminated door sills.

I love the white instruments.
I am still in break in period so I havent gone over 4500rpms yet. The car feels very fast. In fact it feels a lot faster then the 550hp Ruf conv. Off the line just giving it 3/4 throttle for less then a second but not brake launching it, it moves so quick. It will only go quicker once broken in.
So far I love the PDK. I need some track time to get more experience out of it but so far just city driving I am very pleased. I am one of the few who is happy to not have a manual anymore.
After three 911s this is by far my favorite Porsche. I got tint and full 3m bra from Vividracing. I also got the Toyo R888 tires and had them put on the stock rims. Then I bought these ADV1s which where black and had them powdercoated silver

But now I am having second thoughts on the color of the wheels. What do you think would look best on a silver car? Go back to black or a bright silver? I really prefer silver like a bright color or even darker like my Kinesis wheels on the 996TT.

How about giving our new friend some rep points for his efforts!
Only kidding.
Hi! Ruf R-turbo
Hi!
How are you? Just signed in as a member of this page.
I'm considering selling the R-turbo. I've been offered to buy a Porsche Sportec spr1 2001 with 857 horsepower.
Hope you're all fine. Let me know when you're selling your 997 turbo, or some other cool cars, and we'll come over again.
Best,
Bard

good luck with her! gorgeous...
i would stick with factory wheels as i think they still cary novelty facto,r and change the ADV1s to charcoal... but do find a center cap with the p logo, the plain type seems to be missing smth...

Doing good here. I already have 5300 miles on the 997.2 Turbo. I love it so far and have done many track days in the car. I will let you know when I am selling it! Porsche Sportec spr1 2001 with 857 horsepower sounds insane. That would be a fun car.
