997.2 Finally Arrives

Well, after almost 5 months of waiting, she's arrived. Just picked her up yesterday, so don't have any real driving review just yet, other than to say "Wow"! I'm coming from an M5, a great car in its own right, but loving the switch. I love everything about it, including all the "controversial" items, like the larger exhausts, larger mirrors, new wheels, shiny steering wheel - I guess it's like having kids, you love everything about them, and that's the way I am with this car so far.

This is my first Porsche, first convertible, and first non black or silver car - and l'm glad with all those decisions.

Here are some pictures. I don't think they do a great job showing how rich the Ruby Red is. Hopefully they show the deviated stitching well - very glad I went with this option.

Thanks, and thanks for your help making sure I got the deviated stitching done right as opposed to all of the mistakes seen out there.

Wow-very very nice especially with the deviated stitching. How much other leather did you get with the car-like the defroster trim or the inner sills or sun visors? It seems as if you have the perfect amount of leather if you dont go all out and get everything done. The door handles, RCC and PDK surround and RCC lid are all essential. It makes the car look so so much better. I have an 09TT guards red with black leather (no dev stitching though) and am only missing the XVT option (leather speakers). The car looks so sweet with all the leather way better than stock. i got the AC vents done, the A pillar, B pillar belt out lets and the rear seat levers and they look cool. Everything is expensive though and you must draw the line somewhere and it seems as if you have done it perfectly!!! Great car and the ruby red rocks too.

As you mention, there are a lot of leather options. I got the rear center console in leather, the PDK gear selector surround in leather, door finishers in leather, and the porsche crest on the storage bin which makes it an exclusive option which is necessary to get the deviated stitching on that. i really didn't have an urge to get it on the vents, PCM, around the gauges, etc. The only piece i didn't get in leather that i am questioning are the sun visors. I'm very happy with the way it turned out. Thought about sleeping in it last night....

Excellent choice in interiors. Deviated stitching always looks good.
