Question 2011 Turbo S Buyer

I am in the process of purchasing a Turbo S 2011. I would like to know would you wait until the 2012 Turbo to come out next year to purchase the new model, or would you purchase the Turbo S 2011 now?
Any information would help.
Thanks
Mike

There will not be a 2012 turbo. 2011 will be the last model year until probably 2014. 2012 will be the model year for the new 911, and the turbo usually debuts 2 years later. Get it now.

yea, i ordered mine with an "april build"... the car is a beast. plus from all the spy pics that have been leaked of the new version i'm happy to go with the 2011 TTS... the 998(?) sorta looks like a mitsubishi eclipse if you ask me..

I've voted yes with my wallet. June build. Mid July trip to Stuttgart to pick her up. The base PDK turbos are incredible. An extra 30 HP can't hurt.

From a cost savings perspective the used Turbo under 100K is the Hp bargain of the year. Deprecation already has been absorbed and it's not hard to find a well maintained car. In fact .. I feel the used 997.1tt is the best value ovearll for 997 cars in general followed by the Gt3 and 997S.

However -- the Turbo S is one heck of a car but is it really worth it to pay 180+ K with full knowledge that its novelty will be replaced in the not so far away future.

I have an 07 Turbo customized to every spec that i ever wanted in a car. when I was presented with the concept of a Turbo s it only took me two seconds to say NO . Instead of spending 80+K plus my car to buy one I took advantage of the 2009 997S PDK deals and now have two Porsches . I kept my 07 Turbo .

If i had no car . I probably would buy the used Turbo . When I saw the depreciation of my 2007 car I felt that it was high enough to avoid a new Turbo . One thing taht i learned in this economy is that spending money can be fun .. but throwing it away is not fun .

Conclusion -- If that turbo is worth 90K for you to have it for three years -then buy it. It's a great car .. but i don't feel its the best value in 997 Turbo land.

Trading in my 09 cayenne Turbo and braking the bank...but just got my pick-up date in Zuffenhausen:June 24th...a bit later than i thought, but the minute i hit the Autobahn,i am sure that all delays and financial challenges will be forgotten and a sandblaster will be required to remove the wicked grin from my face

Enjoy it for two years and see if the new turbo is anything like the new botch job they did on the Cayenne turbo?

I would buy it now. I make a point of never buying a 1st gen model of a new platform. You don't want to be a beta tester for a new platform. I just ordered a 2011 C4S and in 2 to 3 years when the new platform matures I'll trade up.

I ordered the Turbo S Cab will be in Oct. I did not want to wait. The next version may be better but until then I will be driving while you would be waiting. I bought a 2009 Targa 4S It is a great car. but not quite what I wanted. Still enjoying the Targa while I wait. But I bet I dont miss the Targa come fall.

Buy it now worry about the next model when it gets here. You never know if you will be around or have the $ to buy in two or three years. Why wait.

I went for the standard turbo not the S.
April build, June delivery.
I will get way more than +30HP from a flash and still have money in my pocket left over for many more upgrades.
I don't get the premium P is asking for for the S over the standard Turbo. Specifically that for me, I do not want the PCCBs that come standard on the S!
That's just my $0.02
