PCM removal help

Ok, don't want to break anything.

Removed the carpeted panels with torx.

Removed the 2 smaller torx screws for the side panels.

Side panels pop out at the middle/bottom, but are being held at the top, by what?!? I don't want to force it, but it doesn't want to pop out.

Allen wrench, insert into each plastic insert on each side, turn 90 degrees to unlock the top.

The are along the side of the PCM module on each side. You should see them along the edge of the left and right side.

The allen sockets are not bolts...they are plastic, take care turning them...they unlock an aluminum retaining spring.

ok, maybe I am still a step back.

I haven't been able to get the leather side pieces off. I took out the two screws for each, and the bottom and middle snap piece pop out, but something is holding the top of both in. Do I just need to pull harder? I think you're talking about the actual removal of the PCM, or.. am I missing something.

Ok. back to the drawing board. Got the panels off, turned the hex screws like you said... it loosened up the PCM, but it still wont slide out.

Yes, for the record. for those trying to remove the PCM, a 7mm screw (bolt) needs to be backed out (not all the way) to slide out the PCM.

Oh NOW you post that.. haha.. yup, there is my 7mm bolt!

Its out now. we're good to go. It's elegant once you know how to do it, but the bold is "ONCE YOU KNOW HOW TO DO IT".
