Guess I'm in the minority. I put a bottle of Techron in the tank every 3-4 thousand miles in my cars. Top Tier gas isn't always readily accessible, so I use what I can find. Got a case of the stuff at Costco for $15. Hardly a bank breaker.

i THINK I HAVE WATER IN MY FUEL. iT STARTS CUTTING OUT 2,3, OR 4 CYLINDERS ABOUT EVERY 12 OR 13 MILES. wHEN I CUT THE CAR OFF AND LET IT SIT 1 OR 2 MIN. IT RUNS FINE FOR A WHILE THEN STARTS MISSING AGAIN. mY CAR SAT IN THE GARAGE FOR 3 WKS WITH-OUT ANY START-UP AND DURING THAT TIME WE RECEIVED 22 INCHES OF RAIN IN A WEEK. i HAVE RAN 2 BOTTLES OF HEET THROUGH THE FUEL AND 2 TANKS OF FUEL WITH NO LUCK. mY LOCAL SAYS TO TRY SEAFOAM IN THE FUEL. pLEASE HELP.btw i'M A NEWBIE 2005 997. gREAT SITE

If the car ran fine before you put it in the garage, I doubt your problem is caused by water in the fuel. Perhaps all you need is a new fuel pump filter.

Ethanol

What about gas with ethanol, is it OK for 997 TT? Most of the stations around here, Charlotte, NC have up to 10%.

I use Swepco 503 fuel treatment every 3-4k miles. Since the best gas I can get in Calif. is 91 octane (2 octane short of what these cars are tuned for at the factory) I use Lucas Octane boost every other fill up. It brings the octane up a point and I do feel the difference when I use it. Car has 26K miles and runs great. If I really want a performance boost I mix 5-6 gallons of 100 octane unleaded race gas to the 91 when I fill up. This brings the octane to 93 and she runs stronger yet. I don't do this very often as its expensive and its only available at my local race track which is 1 hour away. If you live out of the state of California consider yourself lucky when it comes to fuel and octane. You do notice the difference with these turbos (mine is completely stock).

Chevron Techron Concentrate Plus complete fuel system cleaner is good. Forego Chevron Pro-Gard fuel injector cleaner, however.
