Any opinions on use of fuel treatment

My dealership recently offered me a engine treatment for 300 dollars when I visited them for an oil change...I was not sure their labor was more than adding a fuel/injector treatment. I know many brands out there like Lucas, STP,Gold eagle etc... which one is best for Porsche 997TT?? and should I think about this at 11K miles??
Opinions welcome

Absolutely not. A total scam. I am a fuel and lubricants distributor. If you are purchasing your fuel from a major (Chevron, Shell, etc) you are getting the detergents you need. Techron is an excellent detergent. If you want to add a fuel additive/cleanser OCCASIONALLY, it wont hurt. But DONT pay $300 for it

I recently watched an episode of Fifth Gear during which they compared all the leading brands of fuel additives and their effect on engine output.
They used a very advanced science lab in one of the universities.
They found that ALL of them actually reduced power output!

Sounds like your dealer is looking at ways how to overservice you. If somethings not broken why try to fix it? Ive NEVER heard of anyone using injector cleaner on a 997tt unless there is a very obvious problem that may warrant using it. And, as a preventative measure why would you bother.

At the risk of sounding like a jerk....
READ YOUR OWNERS MANUAL. Porshe recommends adding nothing to that engine. Mobil 1 and unleaded fuel. No gimicks, no octane boosters etc...

Dealerships never cease to amaze me

first at 11,xxx miles this is absurd, second, at $300 this is called theft.... all joking aside though, I am in the automotive business and once a vehicle reaches 60,xxx miles it is a good idea to get some sort of fuel treatment into the engine. However, this is a broad statement which really includes the over the counter cheap useless stp junk (or the likes)
If and when you reach that sort of mileage look for a shop that does something called Motorvac Cleanups, its a machine that hooks up to the fuel lines directly to the engine while removing your fuel pump from the equation. The machine mixes a calculated ratio of a potent cleanser and fuel to intensely clean the injector tips, fuel lines, and anywhere else the fuel is distributed until it burns. I have been doing this on customer cars for the past few years and have had nothing but good reactions. The price is much cheaper than the stealer quote and the results are for real... that said at 11,xxx miles keep on driving and avoid the dealer at all costs, lol.

read my first post and find a place in your area that you can trust to do the right thing, anything that your filling in the tank is really diluted and not gonna really hurt, but then again its really not gonna help

That was kind of my thoughts after reading this thread, not really doing anything but spending $$. I'll search for a shop that does the vac cleaning.<O</O
The car oddly enough has got better gas mileage over the last few months, but not enough to contribute to just the additive. I'm getting 20.6 to 20.8 running all stock and 50/50 city & hwy. <O</O
Thanks for the advice.

Using additives is a waste of money. You should only use "top tier" gasolines (Google it), which have all the necessary detergents your engine needs.

There is no need to have injectors cleaned before 80-90000miles...assuming you are using quality fuel...so just avoid anything that can hurt/damage any part of the fuel system...
On the other hand talking about octane boosters is a different story...adding torco concentrate race fuel raise your octane numbers and so a more aggresive tune can be used...
