All of your comments were well stated. BTW, liked your Monaco to Maranello Pt 1 and 2, editing was good, and liked the choice of music as well.

What was missing from the OP was how will it be used. Track? 997. Weekend getaway in rural America? California. Daily driver? 997. Have to use for all three? 997.

Maybe in pictures, but there is no mistaking a California for a Vette in person.

Man put it this way, if you r married go with the porsche .. If not go ferrari, the F cars are big attention on the streets and for shows .. But the turbo S, is a very unique super fast daily driven low cost maintance manly car.. i mean you could take your kids to school (If u have any) then buy some groceries on ur way back home, And track it at the same day !! .. you have to sacrifce the attention on the street though with the porsche. Meaning not as "magnet" as the ferrari :P
I know this might sound not reasonable for some .. But this is my point of view after all they r both supercars with great heritage

You might want to read Award winning Dan Neil column in today's WSJ. He claims that the Porsche Turbo Cab is the perfect if not the best sport car.

I own a 997.2 Turbo Cab. I recently sold my 430 Spider. I also drove the California for almost an hour.

The California is a good GT car with an excellent exhaust. From the front it looks very similar to a Maserati and from the back well......somewhat bulbous. For performance it is no match for the Turbo.

I have been buying Ferrari's for years and when they produced the California I began to reconsider.

Thank you. Here's the complete music video of "Rendezvous, Cote d'Azur, 2008"

As fun as Ferraris are to drive (in Italy, it's like driving NASA) what I find in America is one testosterone-poisoned pickup truck driver after another, doing things to the Ferrari that the Porsche tends to slide-by because "one 911 looks just like any other"Here's a "taste" of what happens, twice a month in a Ferrari and less often in the 911:

About 1 person/1000 wants to kill you in a Ferrari and will do all kinds of unsafe things to f___ you, even with their family in the car. I've got video of COPS breaking the law to screw with the Ferrari, That's why I got full-time video in my vehicles. I've had it with "individualistic, freedom loving" American losers. You don't see this crap in Europe.

Also, the best "magnet" is a dog. No comparison

Picked up a turbo cab in 08 at the factory and toured these countries for a bit:
Austria, Germany,Belgium and the Netherlands do have a positive attitude towards nice cars and it was a great time driving there...but f*****g forget about France(petty,jealous,suspicious,envious,rude...)gr eat roads, but worst attitude i have EVER seen anywhere
Great idea about about the full time video

Ferrari is hott, but it might be mistaken for a chick car. The Porsche is more raw and performance driven.

Porsche- if you hope to drive it with any regularity. There aren't many Ferraris with more than 30,000 miles on them. This tell you something about their endurance.

the answer is quite simple:
if you are primarily interested in looks and showing off,by all means pick the C car...if you are interested in being the fastest, while remaining discreet...pick the S...in a about a month i pick mine up in Zuffenhausen
I have a POV camera and cant wait to post vids of me braking in my cab on the Autobahn

What are the current break-in requirements? Not above 4k for first 1,200 miles or ?
