Could you please comment on the sound quality? A friend has Tooki and the sound quality is only ok when he calls me from his car. Thanks in advance.
The choice was mine, I they can just disable the changer and leave it as it.
Sound quality, although I'm not an audiophile, seems very good! I had a portable Motorola Bluetooth and this is a BIG step beyond this.
I've heard Dension is good but I can't comment or compare as I've not used one. Also, I use a Blackberry and can't comment on iPhone compatibility but the installer will know. According to the manual, Mobridge needs to specially configure the following cell phones: LG U8360, Samsung Agxx, Samsung Z300, Z310, Z500, D500 and Sagem. The full list of MObridge supported phones can be found at: http://www.mobridgeinc.com/webfm_send/50

And according to page 9 in the Bluetooth manual " mObridge Bluetooth allows you to stream high-quality Bluetooth audio from your phone or Bluetooth-compatible mp3 player directly into your car (you need to change the A2DP profile using your menu).

K.

Could those with Dension confirm that this is true for other brands of cell phone as well? TIA.

I was thinking about installing Dension, but if this is the case I'll go with something else.
I have the denison 500 with the denison bluetooth integration module. I have the blackberry 8120 as well as the Iphone 3gs. I'm soo used to dialing calls on the blackberry or iphone and having the calls come through via the BT (like on the BMW) but if you do this on the denison unit, it will not work. In order to use the BT for outgoing calls, you have to originate the call from the PCM unit. It's such a pain that I don't even use it. However, if you receive calls, you have to also accept the call via PCM. Maybe I have to try another BT integration unit.

I may be interested in selling my denison unit if you are interested. Not really happy with the unit. Shoot me a PM and i'll let you know.

getz - we have stock and have been primary distrib for the Dension for four years. Hit the order page at bumperplugs.com anytime.

With the Dension setup (iPod and BT) you can STREAM tunes from your iPhone without any issue. If you do not have an A2DP phone, then that won't work - it is phone dependent.

And the Dension allows CD Changer retention, and always has (well, for the past 3 years anyway).

Anyone with Dension questions feel free to email me: eric@bumperplugs.com

We do have access to all 3 major vendors on iPod/BT integration, though we sell more Dension than any of the others.

In cases we've seen with problematic issues (not tragic, just minor), there can be faulty installs (seen nearly anything you can imagine), crimped mic cables, failure to program vehicle for cd changer when necessary, failure to update firmware, etc. There may be a few phones that are not compatible, but that would be true across most BT systems if so. And sure, every so often you will find a bad unit, true with any mfr. But most of these systems are relatively clean nowadays.

Again, questions? email me anytime.

Thanks.

Quick minor glitch, my Dension Gateway 500 will self-restart (usually within 5 minutes when I first start the engine), it gives me an annoying a high pitch noise, restarting PCM as well, but everything goes back to normal after a few seconds.

It doesn't do it all the time, maybe 9 times out of 10. Any suggestions?

Sounds like possible power hookup is wrong - must be unswitched power.

Check the grounds - sounds like one is either missing or wrong location.

Does radio work otherwise? What about iPod?

Email me with details of where you purchased, year/model vehicle, cd changer or not, etc.: eric@bumperplugs.com

Much thanks Eric, just sent you a quick email on the details. By the way, should I upgrade the iPod connect cable, I think my 3+ year old Dension kit was only compatible with older iPods and the new ones don't charge as Apple changed the cable.

Is it a regular USB cable or something special made by Dension?

Thanks again.

It was an (expensive) option with now out-dated technology.

Yes, updated cable is on order page and usually in stock.

USB is not iPod cable. Dension iPod Updated Cable is what you need for charging newer iPods.

Thanks.

I have heard mixed reviews (just recently) regarding the Denison. Are all the bugs worked out? Also, I am somewhat hesitant as I have leather PCM option, that it may get narfed on the install. Has anyone had any issues with PCM leather denison install?
