Hello guys...I ve tried Torco 5w30 fully sunthetic oil to a 997 turbo and the engine ran smoother...with less noises...i am thinking of switching to torco...opinions?

Book says 5w-40 or 0w-40 weight. I would check to see if it's Porsche approved. I use this oil and I've been happy with it.

A lot of the 996tt guys are using Mobil 1 5W 50. Kinda hard to find, but has a great reputation.

5w50 a GM 8 cylinder favourite....

Oil branding quality can be subjective..use the proper weight, change at proper service intervals..

I actually called a Indy shop this morning to get a quote on a oil change and was told they use efl 0-40w. Not sure if it's any better than m1 but the shop basically said m1 has had issues and they've been using efl for the last 6 years. Would love to also hear what others are using.

Is this the same company that makes race gas?

if so I'd stay away. I use to use Torco race gas and it had a huge amount of particles (very fine brown substance) come out the exhaust. I switched race gas and it went away.

Personally I won't trust their products anymore.

Yes, it's Porsche approved and my local German car repair shop uses it. I've seen it at NAPA auto parts and you can also check their web site for a dealer locator

i thought we were supposed to use mobil 1...after all there is a sticker in the engine bay

I use mobil 1 0w40, change every 5k

Many use it some don't. Several synthetics are approved by Porsche. I also change mine every 5k~7k miles.
