Normally, they are held in late winter/early spring when ATs are much lower than what we are witnessing now.

Germeezy and Speed21,

I apologize to you both for the hiatus from the thread. I was out of town for a few days.

Paul, we are not talking about 5 or 6 WOT runs here. We are indeed talking about 2 to 3 quick overtake WOTs lasting no more that 3 to 4 seconds each during, say, a 15 minute drive, and that too, not one maneuvre right after the other.

Yes, our ATs are very elevated. Having said that, Porsche managed to get water temps to remain planted right in the middle of the gauge. Stayed planted even during my runs where I did 4 standing start acceleration runs 0~250 in quick succession. Why not develop oil cooling to be consistent with what they've done with the water cooling?

The quickly soaring heat build up in Oil Temps in the circumstances I described above are, for me, a cause for concern.
At the very least, it means I need to exercise more throttle restraint than I really would like to.

Finally, I will try to run some durametric logs on a normal drive just as I described and just to see if dura readouts are consistent with my impressions. I will gladly provide raw files to anyone who would care to analyze.

So what did Porsche Kuwaiti say? Is it ok to give it a flogging at 150 oil temps in 55c temps?
I'd be keen to hear an answer on that first b4 any data log info.

There's that lovely OZ sarcasm that I missed while I was away!

Did not inquire with P Dealer about the obvious mate.

This is not a defect in the car. You back off, drive slow, oil temps come back down within a reasonably short time thereafter.

All I'm saying is that it is putting somewhat of a small dent in my enjoyment of the car in our ambients here.

Like I said, I wish P sorted out the oil cooling the way they did with the water.

Had my first track experience at the Nurburgring GP track
It was quite a humbling experience getting lapped by all these GT3's
Most of these guys live around here too,and i'm pretty sure it was not their first time
Not easy holding the line with all these experienced track guys around you
And i thought that after driving between 100 and 180 on the way here,I was hot ****
Oh btw,on my spirited runs on the autobahn,my oil temp is around 200,below and above

You own a performance car engineered by one of the worlds greatest sports car manufacturers. That kind of restraint being needed is uncalled for, have you contacted Porsche?

jpw2b is infamous around these parts
I ran into not only elevated oil temp but also water temps in my 2009 C4S PDK during HPDE events. Everything checked out fine with the dealer, and they did confirm that the 2011 MY cars with have a third center radiator, but there was no retrofit for the 2009 and 2010 cars.

In the end I felt I didn't want to compromise my driving enjoyment and traded out for a 2007 TT 6-Speed. Couldn't be happier!

Just sayin' that I'm not suprised to hear similar experiences with the TT PDK...seems like they may have a bit more to work out on this new motor/transmission pairing.

Hey Karim. Sorry if i came across as being sarcastic....didnt mean to .

Just thought it best to get the feedback from the P technical dept on your concerns first before pursuing any other avenues. Your concerns have merit.

Let me know what they say .

Did 11 laps on the Nordshleife today, what an amazing experience
They are some serious drivers there
My best lap was 10 minutes, which is not too bad for someone who has never been on a track before
I had it in automatic the whole time, cause I did not want to deal with shifting gears when there was so much going on around me
I am hooked and will be coming back here, most awesome driving experience of my life...

I know i have been stingy w comments:chalk that up to laziness, lack of creativity and last but not least....getting caught up in the moment
I know i talked a big game about vids and pics, but once i got my baby, she was all i could think of
Which is why my admiration has no bounds for peeps that can put as much energy into their passion as they do in communicating and sharing it
Once i got behind the wheel of my S,i forgot about everything and everybody...except for Baby Jesus

The Nordschleife is brutal on a turbo
After 5 consecutive laps,my gas level was low,so i went to the gas station nearby(you should see the cool cars lined up there )
After filling it up,i parked it and went in for a bite...and when i came out 10 minutes later and got to my car,i went whooa...cause i thought i had left my engine running...but noooooo,it was my engin's fan still running trying to cool it off

No sweat bro. What counts is that you sound like you're having a blast.

And yes, driven hard, our cars are not particularly frugal .
