Oil change DIYer help please !

Hello Guys,
I did an oil change on my 07 Turbo today following bbywu's DIY ( Thanks alot man!! ) . Oil tank and crank case was pretty easy. But When I removed the torx bolts under the turbo reservoirs right below the oil line?, there was no oil coming out. Not even a sign of oil in the bolt hole. Did I drain the right bolts? There were no other bolts that i could find on the reservoir.

Also the shop I got the filter and washers from didn't include the smaller o-ring for the filter and I couldn't see it on the oil filter either, so I just replaced the bigger o-ring and put the filter back. Should i go get the o-ring and reinstall the filter?

They also gave me the wrong crush washer for the crankcase bolt , and I had to reuse the old one. I should probably get a new washer and redo the crankcase bolt.

Any thoughts?
Thanks alot for the help!

Don't worry too much about washer and o ring, sometimes it's better to use the older ones, if the washer is doing it's job once you installed it don't change it. As for the draining question, this is odd. There are two drain plugs, one is on the right side in front of the right side header, the other Is dead center of the engine directly between the headers, hope that helped

these two red circles are where you need to drain the oil, this was a picture I took of a set of new headers I was installing on a friends car

Always change the o-rings and filter rings when you change the oil. Also, only use dealer purchased stuff.

Here in the states we have a lot of tracks with left turns. So I guess he needed more power on the driver's side (left side) haha..

I'm sure the picture was taken during the process to compare.

Thanks alot! I guess that's why there's no oil coming out.

Can anyone with a shop manual to confirm there are no drains for the turbos please?

Correct, there are no turbo drains on the 997TT. The 996T had drains, but Porsche must have figured out it was not necessary and removed them on the 997

Youre right!! Verrry odd. I header only.

Hey skand I thought you may have linked him up to that near disaster of yours with the small filter o ring??

As a DIY job it'd definately pay to change it out just to be on the safe side.

Thanks Speed21! I will probably redo it since it only takes a few minutes anyways.
