Not exactely caught up: the time to reach a certain speed is not proportinal to the covered distance in that time (distance is in fact speed integrated over time)
This means that after 19.3 seconds, the ferrari, while doing the same speed, is probably still trailing bij a few car lengths. Beyond 160 mph however, the ferrari will probably accelerate faster, regain ground and soon pass the TT.

That should not be a surprise. The 599 has substantially more hp and is RWD. AWD drive cars are not particularly noted for their top end speed.

That is just crazy. I don't think anybody on here would have expected the new 997.2TT (and S variant) to ever be this fast in the straight line.

What amazes me is that the Turbo gets to 100mph in a time that would have been considered very fast to 60mph when I was a teenager. I am 55, and when I was a teenager the Ferrari Daytona and Lamborghini Miura were the reigning supercars. My how times have changed!

from a dig the 0-60 2.9s and 0-100 6.8s is fantastic. There will be almost nothing that it could not pounce on from light to light. On a roll the 60-130 is 8.6 seconds which is just a tad off a stock 997GT2 - 8.2 to 8.3s. On a roll a stage 2 997.1 TT will still best it (60-130 high 7s to low 8s range).

that says it all...at least to me. It's very fast in either scenario but on a roll there are plenty of competitors such as viper, z06, zr1 etc. Not a big deal at all since this car isn't usually purchased just for stoplight racing, but something to consider nonetheless.

I must be scared to burn the clutch because I don't see any where near these 0-60 times... acceleration from stand still is not my wow factor in the 997.1 Turbo.

Rolling starts in 2nd gear on however...

Actual amazing numbers...I remember the Hennessy Viper at 2 seconds and thought it was abosultely suicidal insanity. Now this.

Wow.
